COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS FROM FEBRUARY 14th AND 15th

CENTURY CLUB – DIVISION TWO – The SINCLAIR COLLEGE TARTAN PRIDE were hosting the COLUMBUS STATE COUGARS yesterday and put up 100 points to the 78 scored by their guests   ###   The ESSEX COUNTY COLLEGE WOLVERINES meanwhile outdid even the Tartan Pride by scoring an incredible 125 points on the road to defeat the MANOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS by a score of 125 to 96   ###   And the GLENDALE (AZ) COLLEGE GAUCHOS notched a tight 102-98 OT victory over the SOUTH MOUNTAIN COLLEGE COUGARS.    

Brookdale College Jersey BluesCENTURY CLUB – DIVISION THREE – The top-ranked defending champions, the BROOKDALE COLLEGE JERSEY BLUES, were on the road against the PASSAIC COLLEGE PANTHERS and went home boasting a 107-82 victory   ###   Meanwhile the WYTHEVILLE COLLEGE WILDCATS won a 105-89 catfight with the visiting CENTRAL CAROLINA COUGARS   ###   And the OCEAN COUNTY COLLEGE VIKINGS made the SUSSEX COUNTY COLLEGE SKYLANDERS rethink their lives by sending them home with a ONE HUNDRED ONE to FIFTY-FIVE smackdown.

Pennsylvania Highland College Black BearsCENTURY CLUB FROM FRIDAY – The PENNSYLVANIA HIGHLANDS COLLEGE BLACK BEARS got a jump on the weekend’s action with their Friday victory over the WESTMORELAND COLLEGE WOLFPACK by a score of 106-81   ###   And in a clash of uniquely- named teams the homestanding VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN smacked around the RAINY RIVER COLLEGE VOYAGEURS (no, not Voyeurs – Voyageurs) to the tune of 109-74. 

Wentworth Military Academy Red DragonsNOT J.G. WENTWORTH BUT STILL A WINNER – Sing along with me – “If you need a hardcourt victory / And you need it NOWWWW/ Call the WENTWORTH MILITARY ACADEMY RED DRAGONS / 877-BALL NOW”  …  Had to be said. Or sung. Whatever. Anyway the ever-tough Red Dragons welcomed the NORTH ARKANSAS COLLEGE PIONEERS on Friday and won an 83-79 Instant Classic.  

Bristol College BeesWORKING OVERTIME – In Connecticut the BRISTOL COLLEGE BEES played a honey of a game (sorry) against the visiting UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT AT AVERY POINT POINTERS. The two teams wound up tied at the end of Regulation but the Bees went on to sting their opponents in the extra session. The final score in this Overtime donnybrook was Bees 92  Pointers 87.

Independence Pirates logoUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – DIVISION ONE – The INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES notched an 83-80 road win over the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES   ###   The CHATTAHOOCHEE TECH GOLDEN EAGLES took down the visiting SOUTH GEORGIA TECH JETS in a nerve-wracking 77-74 affair   ###   And the PHOENIX COLLEGE BEARS won a 76-74 battle royal with their guests – the CENTRAL ARIZONA COLLEGE VAQUEROS.  

College of Rhode Island KnightsUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – DIVISION TWO – The COLLEGE OF RHODE ISLAND KNIGHTS managed an upset win over Division ONE’s ASA COLLEGE AVENGERS in a 75-73 masterpiece the Knights faithful will be talking about for years   ###   The MONROE TRIBUNES in the meantime squeezed out a thrilling win over the ERIE COLLEGE KATS by a score of 76-74   ###   And the TIDEWATER COLLEGE STORM eked out a 76-75 road win against the VANCE- GRANVILLE COLLEGE VANGUARDS. 

Jefferson CannoneersUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – DIVISION THREE – The JEFFERSON CANNONEERS welcomed the CORNING COLLEGE RED BARONS and cursed them with a 76-73 loss in a game for the ages   ###   The NORTH LAKE COLLEGE BLAZERS survived a 73-70 invasion from the BROOKHAVEN COLLEGE BEARS   ###   The MASSACHUSETTS BAY COLLEGE PIRATES defeated the visiting QUINSIGAMOND COLLEGE WYVERNS (yes – Wyverns) by a final score of 76-71   ###   And the MASSASOIT COLLEGE WARRIORS downed the SPRINGFIELD TECH RAMS in an incredibly tight 70-69 game.  

MCC-Penn Valley ScoutsTHEY LOVE THE NINETIES – The MCC-PENN VALLEY SCOUTS took on the visiting NORTH ARKANSAS COLLEGE PIONEERS in an offensive orgy that saw both teams score in the nineties. The Scouts won in the end by a score of 97-94.   ###   And the LACKAWANNA COLLEGE FALCONS played the SALEM COLLLEGE OAKS in an equally high-scoring affair. The final score was Falcons 93  Oaks 90.         

Southwestern Illinois College Blue StormDEFENSIVE EPICS – DIVISION ONE – The SOUTHWESTERN ILLINOIS COLLEGE BLUE STORM took it on the road against the LINCOLN TRAIL COLLEGE STATESMEN and won a 62-61 hardcourt epic   ###   Meanwhile the SOUTH GEORGIA STATE HAWKS defeated the visiting GEORGIA HIGHLANDS COLLEGE CHARGERS by a score of 62-54   ###   The KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE STATESMEN took down the RICHARD J DALEY COLLEGE BULLDOGS 57-52   ###   And the NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN managed an 11 point win against the WESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE PIONEERS in a 66-55 battle. 

Triton College TrojansDEFENSIVE EPICS – DIVISION TWO – The TRITON COLLEGE TROJANS traveled to face the COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS and went home with a 66-59 victory   ###   The PRAIRIE STATE COLLEGE PIONEERS likewise notched a road win, in their case over the WAUBONSEE COLLEGE CHIEFS by a score of 58-47   ###   And the CARL SANDBURG COLLEGE CHARGERS defeated the homestanding BLACK HAWK COLLEGE- MOLINE BRAVES in a 67-62 nailbiter.  

Oxford College of Emory EaglesDEFENSIVE EPICS – DIVISION THREE – The team whose name is a mouthful – the OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY EAGLES eked out a tight 64-63 win over the visiting WEST GEORGIA TECH GOLDEN KNIGHTS   ###   And the LINCOLN COLLEGE OF NEW ENGLAND WILDCATS took down the NORTHERN ESSEX KNIGHTS in their own house by a final score of 67-64.   

Kishwaukee College Kougars logoBUTTKICKINGS – The KISHWAUKEE COLLEGE KOUGARS (their spelling to tie in with the K in Kishwaukee) took it on the road and dismembered the ILLINOIS VALLEY COLLEGE EAGLES to the tune of 96-65   ###  The BUNKER HILL COLLEGE BULLDOGS devastated the HOLYOKE COLLEGE COUGARS 95-63   ###   And the HIGHLAND (IL) COUGARS mauled the visiting KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE STATESMEN by a score of 93-61.
