NCCAA WORLD SERIES DAY THREE AND NAIA PLAYOFF RESULTS FROM MAY 10TH

The 3rd seeded DALLAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE CRUSADERS remained alive in Series play by defeating the 2nd seeded FLORIDA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SUNS in a 3-1 thriller. Earlier in the day the Suns eliminated the 4th seeded CLEARWATER CHRISTIAN COLLEGE COUGARS in an 11-1 thrashing. The Crusaders will now face the top seeded defending champs, the TOCCOA FALLS COLLEGE EAGLES, who are going for a Threepeat.

* NAIA Playoffs *

CLAREMORE BRACKET – The 2 seeds, the BELLEVUE BRUINS, eliminated the 5th seeded MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS 8-4. Then in the nightcap they were taken down themselves by the top seeded LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY CHAPARRALS in a tight 7-5 affair.   ###   And the 4th seeded ROGERS STATE UNIVERSITY HILLCATS stayed perfect with a third upset victory, annihilating the (3) LYON COLLEGE SCOTS SIXTEEN to TWO.   

CLEVELAND BRACKET – The (5) GRAND VIEW VIKINGS eliminated the (3) LSU-SHREVEPORT PILOTS (riverboat pilots) by a score of 6-3. The Vikings were eliminated in turn by the 4th seeded AVILA EAGLES in a 12-10 scoring orgy.   ###   And the top seeds, the LEE UNIVERSITY FLAMES, demolished the (2) MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS 9-2.  

DAYTONA BEACH BRACKET – The 3rd seeded LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS took a pair of games, bouncing both World Series Newcomers. They defeated the (5) MARTIN METHODIST REDHAWKS 6-2 and followed that up by edging the (4) AVE MARIA UNIVERSITY GYRENES 2-1.   ###   In a 1 over 2 clash the EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EAGLES topped the CONCORDIA (CA) EAGLES 7-6.   

HATTIESBURG BRACKET – The 2nd seeded OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON bounced back from their Day One loss by defeating the 4th seeded CENTRAL METHODIST EAGLES in a 7-6 Instant Classic. Next they eliminated the (5) USCB SAND SHARKS in an equally tight 3-2 outcome, this one in TEN innings.   ###   And the (1) NORTHWOOD (TX) KNIGHTS stayed perfect in Series play by impaling the (3) WILLIAM CAREY CRUSADERS 9-0.

JOLIET BRACKET – In the 2 spot the CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS eliminated two teams yesterday, the (5) TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS in an 18-2 laugher and then the (4) MAYVILLE STATE COMETS in a 6-5 game for the ages.   ###   Meanwhile the top seeded YORK (NE) PANTHERS shut out the 3 seeds, the JUDSON UNIVERSITY EAGLES, by a score of 5-0.   

KINGSPORT BRACKET – The 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF BENEDICTINE-SPRINGFIELD BULLDOGS came alive yesterday, first bouncing the 2nd seeded POINT PARK UNIVERSITY PIONEERS 4-1, and then dispatching the (4) TAYLOR TROJANS in a very tense 6-4 game.   ###   And the defending champions of NAIA baseball, the top seeded TENNESSEE WESLEYAN COLLEGE BULLDOGS, eked out a 6-5 victory over the (3) MISSOURI BAPTIST UNIVERSITY SPARTANS.  

MONTGOMERY BRACKET – The (3) GEORGETOWN (KY) TIGERS mauled the (5) MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE COUGARS by a score of 12-2 only to find themselves eliminated in the night game by the 4th seeded INDIANA TECH WARRIORS 4-3.   ###   And the (2) TEXAS WESLEYAN COLLEGE RAMS needed TEN innings but defeated the top seeded FAULKNER UNIVERSITY EAGLES 4-2.

OKLAHOMA CITY BRACKET – The 3rd seeded UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS had an interesting day yesterday. First they eliminated the (4) NORTHWESTERN (IA) RED RAIDERS in a 5-4 game for the ages. Then they took their archrivals, the top seeded OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY STARS, to ELEVEN innings before losing a 7-6 heartbreaker.   ###   And the (2) STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS stayed undefeated by obliterating the (5) JAMESTOWN COLLEGE JIMMIES 13-3.

SANTA CLARITA BRACKET – In the 5 spot the CONCORDIA (OR) CAVALIERS eliminated the disappointing 2 seeds, the CAL STATE SAN MARCOS COUGARS in a 13-3 manhandling. In the nightcap the Cavaliers fell to the 4th seeded TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS in a 6-5 eilimination game.   ###   And the top seeded MASTER’S COLLEGE MUSTANGS defeated the 3rd seeded SAN DIEGO CHRISTIAN EAGLES by a score of 3-1.
