NORWICH CADETS WIN NCAA DIVISION 3 WOMEN’S HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Norwich Cadets hockey team won the D3 women’s championship by defeating the RIT Tigers by a score of 5-2. In 2010 the Cadets made it all the way to the title game only to lose to the Amherst Lord Jeffs (yes, even their ladies teams go by the Lord Jeffs) but this year Norwich closed the deal. After an orgy of scoring in the First Period, which ended with the Cadets leading 3-2, the game settled down. Norwich added 1 more goal in each of the final 2 periods to give us our final score. The other teams in the women’s Frozen Four were the  Gustavus Adolphus Gusties and the Middlebury Panthers. Both the Norwich men’s and women’s teams made it to this year’s Frozen Four in their respective tournaments.
