IUS GRENADIERS ANNOUNCE INAUGURAL ATHLETIC DIRECTOR’S HONOR ROLL

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Indiana University Southeast Athletic Department is pleased to announce the inaugural group of recipients of the IU Southeast Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

The Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognizes the outstanding academic accomplishments of IU Southeast student-athletes. To earn recognition student-athletes must achieve at least a 3.0 grade point average for a semester.

“I couldn’t be any happier to see so many of our student-athletes succeeding in the classroom,” said Joe Glover, interim athletic director for IU Southeast. “Student-athletes juggle very stringent schedules. It is a true testament to their individual efforts when they can successfully balance academics and athletics.”

“Our talented coaching staffs also deserve a lot of credit for pushing our athletes to achieve their best in the classroom and in competition,” said Glover. “Our coaches serve as role models for our students and set positive examples every day.”

The Grenadiers had 43-percent of their student-athletes earn a 3.00 grade point average or higher. Twenty student-athletes achieved at least a 3.50 GPA or higher.  A total of 69-percent of IU Southeast student-athletes finished the term with a GPA higher than the average of the undergraduate student-body.

  1. This is a wonderful idea to recognize athletes for the right things. More colleges should do this.
