Regular readers of Balladeer’s Blog are very familiar with the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Drovers men’s soccer team. Players like goalkeeper “Force Field” McEntee, “NC Hammer”, “Niiiiiikolaaaaa” and “Dr Drover” have made the past few seasons very special for USAO soccer. ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – (box score) In a rematch of the 2008 National Championship final, unseeded Bethel (Tenn.) eliminated No. 1-seed Rio Grande (Ohio), 2-1 today in the first game of the NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship final site from the Orange Beach Sportsplex. Bethel (14-5-1), who defeated Rio Grande by the same score in overtime to win the 2008 title, now advances to play at 7:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday against the winner of Mobile (Ala.) and Belhaven (Miss.).
