American Liberals have become even more hypersensitive and easily offended than the old stereotype of Christian Conservatives in pop culture. One of the reasons I used to consider myself a Liberal was because when I was younger Liberals were the people who had no taboo subjects and no prim notions about what was “proper” conversational material.
You could discuss and bounce around any number of uncomfortable or envelope-pushing subjects. And believe it or not you could JOKE about any topic without self-righteous asses reading sinister meanings into irreverent humor. That was a lot more fun than the Christians in the small town where I grew up. Those people had countless forbidden topics and a very narrow definition of what constituted “Decent Society.”
Well who the hell wants to be part of anyone’s snobbish idea of Decent Society?
I never wanted it when it came to right-wing notions of propriety and I certainly don’t want it when it comes to the pompous, hypocritical and hilariously pretentious airs put on by American Liberals today. Continue reading
