USC has been a power in Beach Volleyball going back to when it was still called Sand Volleyball.
Beach Volleyball is now the 90th NCAA sport with an official National Championship. This year was the first ever title tournament under the NCAA and the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TROJANS have won it.

The NCAA has changed the name of Wo-men’s Sand Volley-ball to Wo-men’s Beach Volley-ball and has named it the 90th colleg-iate sport whose Champ-ion-ship will come under the NCAA aegis.
