LANCASTER, Pa. — Franklin & Marshall opened up its 2011 portion of the schedule with a 96-85 victory over Old Westbury in the first round of the 44th Annual Sponaugle New Years Tournament hosted by F&M Sunday evening. The No. 14 Diplomats improved to 8-1 while the Panthers dropped to 2-6.

MARITIME COLLEGE PRIVATEERS – MEN – The men’s team is 5-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play. They are an impressive 3-1 on the road as well. Their next game is Dec 30th against NYU. FLORIDA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE SUNS – MEN – The men’s team started out hot and were 5-2 at one point but have now lost their last four in a row. Brevard, NC – After trailing by three at halftime, Erskine came back to win on the road 77 to 74 over Brevard College in non-conference women’s basketball action at Boshamer Gymnasium. Erskine picks up their first win of the season to move to 1-4 while Brevard slips to 4-5.
