Anthony Kangah led the victors with 21 points while teammate Nathan Mikkelson got a Double Double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation: The ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS COLLEGE POMEROYS beat the visiting INDIANA UNIVERSITY AT COLUMBUS CRIMSON PRIDE 101-70 ### Meanwhile, the UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE (OH) RED STORM downed the KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS 114-79 ### And the GOVERNORS STATE JAGUARS won 107-55 at the JUDSON UNIVERSITY EAGLES.
KNOCKING OFF NUMBER NINE – The COLLEGE OF COASTAL GEORGIA MARINERS took the court against their guests – the nation’s number 9 KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS. The Mariners were up 41-33 at the Half and ultimately held on for a 95-90 Upset win. Sixteen points from Aamir Mack led the College of Coastal Georgia.
ALL NAME GAMES – The INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS took down the visiting OAKLAND CITY UNIVERSITY MIGHTY OAKS 82-62 ### Elsewhere, the VITERBO UNIVERSITY V-HAWKS defeated the CALUMET COLLEGE CRIMSON WAVE 81-75 ### And the LIFE UNIVERSITY RUNNING EAGLES won 91-79 over the ABRAHAM BALDWIN AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE STALLIONS.
CLOSE CALL FOR NUMBER TWO – This game saw the 2nd ranked GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS host the GOSHEN COLLEGE MAPLE LEAFS. The Lancers clung to a mere 43-40 edge at the midpoint. After the break, Grace College held on to defeat the Maple Leafs by a final score of 86-84. Gage Sefton tossed in 19 points to lead the Lancers, while teammate Hunter Walston logged a Double Double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
ROAD WARRIORS – The MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS triumphed 88-58 at the UNIVERSITY OF PROVIDENCE (MT) ARGONAUTS ### The UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE & ARTS OF OKLAHOMA DROVERS won 85-64 at the PANHANDLE STATE AGGIES (should be Okies) ### And the COLUMBIA (SC) FIGHTING KOALAS beat the home standing TENNESSEE WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY BULLDOGS 94-87.
ONE OVERTIME WASN’T ENOUGH – Up next the CUMBERLAND UNIVERSITY PHOENIX welcomed the BETHEL (TN) WILDCATS. The Phoenix watched their 37-30 1st Half lead become a 79-79 tie to end Regulation. The 1st OT score was 89-89 but Cumberland University won 103-94 in DOUBLE OVERTIME. Triston Conger led the Phoenix with 30 points while Michael Nwoye got a Double Double of 15 points and 13 rebounds.
THE COOLER NAME WINS – The BREWTON-PARKER COLLEGE BARONS defeated the visiting POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS by a count of 80-64 ### Meanwhile, the TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS clobbered the ST. XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS 91-68 ### And the (19) HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY FORESTERS won 82-67 at the MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS.
SENIOR DAY SORROW – The SIMPSON UNIVERSITY RED HAWKS took it on the road against the CAL MARITIME ACADEMY KEELHAULERS yesterday. A 32-32 deadlock at Halftime ended up as a 75-75 tie to end Regulation. In Overtime the Red Hawks beat the Keelhaulers by a final tally of 93-87. Thirty points from Timothy Parker led Simpson and his teammate Aidan Rolfs had a Double Double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
INSTANT CLASSICS – The STANTON UNIVERSITY FIGHTING ELKS edged the WESTCLIFF (CA) WARRIORS 66-64 ### Next, the INDIANA UNIVERSITY EAST RED WOLVES won 88-84 at the WEST VIRGINIA TECH GOLDEN BEARS ### And the KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES snuck past their hosts the OTTAWA (KS) BRAVES 73-72.
