COLLEGE BASKETBALL RESULTS FROM BALLADEER’S BLOG: FEB 15th

NJCAA DIVISION THREE

NUMBER ONE ROLLS – The nation’s top ranked RICHLAND COLLEGE THUNDERDUCKS took it on the road against the DALLAS COLLEGE AT CEDAR VALLEY SUNS. By Halftime the Thunderducks had compiled a 39-24 advantage and after the break maintained distance from the Suns for an 80-65 win. Jase Tarver led Richland College with his Double Double of 24 points and 12 rebounds. 

CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation: The (2) SALEM (NJ) COLLEGE MIGHTY OAKS downed the visiting SUSSEX COUNTY COLLEGE SKYLANDERS 104-69   ###   Meanwhile, the OWENS COLLEGE EXPRESS won 110-86 at the HOCKING COLLEGE HAWKS   ###   And the ONONDAGA COLLEGE LAZERS defeated the CAYUGA COLLEGE SPARTANS 102-73.

ONE-POINT WONDER – This game pitted the NORTHERN ESSEX COLLEGE KNIGHTS against their hosts, the QUINCY COLLEGE GRANITE. At the Half the Knights were clinging to a mere 33-32 edge. The final tally reflected the same tightness as Northern Essex triumphed over the Granite 69-68. The Knights were led by Alejandro Delgado’s Double Double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.

ALL NAME GAMES – The QUINSIGAMOND COLLEGE WYVERNS survived a 75-72 visit from the BRISTOL COLLEGE BAYHAWKS   ###   Elsewhere, the CORNING COLLEGE RED BARONS beat their guests the JEFFERSON COLLEGE CANNONEERS 89-73   ###   And the SUNY-ADIRONDACKS TIMBERWOLVES won 75-71 at the HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS. 

ALL ROWAN, NO MARTIN – Up next the ROWAN COLLEGE OF SOUTH JERSEY-CUMBERLAND DUKES took the court against the visiting ROWAN COLLEGE AT GLOUCESTER ROADRUNNERS. The Roadrunners were on top 38-31 at the break, but from there RCSJ-Cumberland rallied. The Dukes won the game by a final score of 84-79 led by a Double Double of 27 points and 10 rebounds from Jameel Purnell. 

ROAD WARRIORS – The EASTFIELD COLLEGE HARVESTERS defeated the DALLAS COLLEGE AT BROOKHAVEN BEARS 67-60   ###   The MESABI RANGE COLLEGE NORSE logged a 95-70 victory at the MINNESOTA NORTH COLLEGE AT ITASCA VIKINGS   ###   And the CENTRAL LAKES COLLEGE RAIDERS (should be Brainstorms) won 100-63 at the RAINY RIVER COLLEGE VOYAGEURS.

A REVOLUTIONARY VICTORY – The BROOKDALE COLLEGE JERSEY BLUES played host to the OCEAN COUNTY COLLEGE VIKINGS in this hardcourt clash. The Jersey Blues took a 37-28 lead into Halftime, then managed more separation from there. In the end, Brookdale College beat OCC 87-69. Evan Weiner led the way to victory with 20 points.

INSTANT CLASSICS – The TIDEWATER COLLEGE STORM won 82-81 at the OXFORD COLLEGE OF EMORY UNIVERSITY EAGLES   ###   Meanwhile, the PATRICK & HENRY COLLEGE PATRIOTS survived a 94-91 visit from the SANDHILLS COLLEGE FLYERS   ###   And the WESTCHESTER COLLEGE VIKINGS edged the SULLIVAN COUNTY COLLEGE GENERALS 94-92 in Overtime.

SHARK SLAYING – In this game the MONROE UNIVERSITY AT THE BRONX EXPRESS welcomed the SUFFOLK COUNTY COLLEGE SHARKS. The Express proceeded to dominate SCC on both sides of the ball. MU-Bronx parlayed their 40-23 advantage at the midpoint into an 88-48 slaughter in the end. The Express were led by 13 points each by Paolo Avvento and Steven McGriff.
