The Crusaders put Indiana Tech on Upset Alert by Halftime with their 52-42 advantage. From there, Madonna University kept their opponents at arm’s length for a 98-91 win. Ahmoni Weston led the Crusaders with THIRTY-TWO points.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation: The (1) GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS beat the MT. VERNON NAZARENE UNIVERSITY COUGARS 103-93 ### Meanwhile, the LINCOLN (CA) OAKLANDERS defeated the CAL MARITIME KEELHAULERS 102-96 ### And the (18) LIFE UNIVERSITY RUNNING EAGLES won 105-84 at the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS.
A DOUBLE SHOT OF THAT OT LOVE – In this game the MONTANA STATE-NORTHERN LIGHTS took it on the road against the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS. A 45-45 Halftime tie became an 84-84 deadlock to end Regulation. The 1st Overtime ended with the score knotted up at 94-94, and the 2nd saw the Lights win out 110-100. Cinque Maxwell and Leon Sayers IV led MSU-Northern with 22 points each.
HARDCOURT CLASSICS – The (13) HOPE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ROYALS survived an 87-83 visit from the LIFE PACIFIC UNIVERSITY WARRIORS ### Next, the COLUMBIA COLLEGE FIGHTING KOALAS beat the visiting BLUEFIELD COLLEGE RAMBLING RAMS 76-72 ### And the MILLIGAN UNIVERSITY BUFFALOES downed the CAROLINA UNIVERSITY BRUINS 75-72.
WORKING OVERTIME – This game pitted the EVERGREEN STATE GEODUCKS against the home standing CORBAN UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The score was tied 46-46 at the Half and 89-89 to end Regulation. In the extra session the Geoducks outscored Corban University 15-7 for a 104-96 victory. A Double Double of THIRTY-SEVEN points and 12 rebounds from Tony Frolich-Fair led Evergreen State.
ALL NAME GAMES – The MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY EVANGELS clobbered the HESSTON COLLEGE LARKS 86-50 ### Elsewhere, the ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS COLLEGE POMEROYS won 79-63 at the INDIANA UNIVERSITY AT COLUMBUS CRIMSON PRIDE ### And the (7) BETHEL (IN) PILOTS (Riverboat Pilots) beat the HUNTINGTON UNIVERSITY FORESTERS 82-76.
A SAINT OVER DEVILS – The LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES (as in the St. Francis tale) took the court against the visiting LAWRENCE TECH BLUE DEVILS. A defense-heavy opening Half ended with the Gray Wolves on top 28-20. After the break the Blue Devils moved closer but fell short as Lourdes University held on for a 69-65 triumph. Derek Fairley led the victors with 22 points.
ROAD WARRIORS – The UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS logged a 78-68 road victory over the CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES ### Meanwhile, the WEST VIRGINIA TECH GOLDEN BEARS won 97-77 at the INDIANA UNIVERSITY-EAST RED WOLVES ### And the COLUMBIA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY RAMS beat the JOHNSON (TN) ROYAL CRUSADERS 82-75.
SOLID GOLD – In this game the XAVIER (LA) GOLD RUSH played host to the NORTH AMERICAN UNIVERSITY STALLIONS. The Gold Rush were up 39-33 come Halftime. From there they left the Stallions further and further behind to win the game 95-81. Xavier University’s Jamal Gibson led his team with a Double Double of 25 points and 10 rebounds.
HOME AND AWAY – Home: The OAKLAND CITY UNIVERSITY MIGHTY OAKS won a 65-62 Instant Classic against their guests the INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS ### Away: The PARK UNIVERSITY PIRATES downed the HASKELL INDIAN NATIONS UNIVERSITY INDIANS 84-77 ## Home: The ST. AMBROSE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BEES defeated the TRINITY CHRISTIAN COLLEGE TROLLS 65-57.
