BALLADEER’S BLOG’S POSTSEASON COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: DEC 13th

CCCAA

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The defending champs – the COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO BULLDOGS – battled the GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE RUSTLERS. A 7-0 opening Quarter edge for the Bulldogs became a 21-7 lead at the Half. 28-7 was the score to close the 3rd Quarter and a missed PAT ended a valiant Rustlers rally in the 4th as San Mateo held on to win 28-27.

NAIA

FIRST SEMIFINAL – The KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS took the field against the visiting COLLEGE OF IDAHO COYOTES. The Seahawks watched their 9-0 1st Quarter lead morph into a 21-9 College of Idaho advantage by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Keiser pulling to within 21-16 of the Coyotes and an explosive 4th ended in a 36-27 victory for the Seahawks. 

SECOND SEMIFINAL – In this game the defending national champions – the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS (should be the Zebras) – welcomed the BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS. The 1st Half ended in a 10-10 tie and the 3rd Quarter with Grand View on top 17-10. Neither team scored in the 4th, so 17-10 was the final tally as well.

NCAA DIVISION TWO

SEMIFINAL ONE – The defending national champions – the FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS – clashed with the visiting NEWBERRY COLLEGE WOLVES. The Bulldogs grabbed a 21-7 opening quarter lead, then converted that to 35-17 at the midpoint. After the break Ferris State outscored the Wolves 14-0 for a 49-17 triumph. 

SEMIFINAL TWO – Up next, the HARDING UNIVERSITY BISON traveled to face the KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY GOLDEN BEARS. This was a lopsided game with the Bison dominating Kutztown U. all the way. By the Half, Harding led 21-7 and from there they made it 42-13 in the 3rd Quarter before winning out 49-27 in the 4th. 

NCAA DIVISION THREE

FIRST QUARTERFINAL – The JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUEJAYS entertained the SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY RIVERHAWKS in this game. A 7-3 Bluejays edge in the 1st Quarter became 20-3 by Halftime. Johns Hopkins University led the Riverhawks 27-10 going into the 4th Quarter, where the Bluejays polished off Susquehanna 40-10. 

SECOND QUARTERFINAL – The JOHN CARROLL UNIVERSITY BLUE STREAKS took it on the road against the BERRY UNIVERSITY VIKINGS. A scoreless opening Quarter was followed by a 14-0 Halftime advantage for the Blue Streaks. Neither team put up points in the 3rd Quarter, but the 4th saw JCU weather a Vikings rally to win the game 21-13.

THIRD QUARTERFINAL – The NORTH CENTRAL COLLEGE CARDINALS, the defending national champions, hosted the BETHEL (MN) UNIVERSITY ROYALS. The Cardinals were out in front of Bethel 7-0, 14-7 and 28-7 in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters, respectively. The 4th Quarter ended with North Central College dispatching the Royals 35-21.

FOURTH QUARTERFINAL – The UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN AT RIVER FALLS FALCONS played the visiting WHEATON COLLEGE THUNDER. By the midpoint of the game the Falcons led Wheaton College 20-7. From there, UW-River Falls outscored the Thunder 26-14 to move on to the Semifinals by final tally of 46-21. 

NJCAA DIVISION ONE

GAME ONE BOWL – This game pitted the IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS against the SNOW COLLEGE BADGERS. The Badgers were on top of their opponents 7-0 in the 1st Quarter, but Iowa Central College went up 17-7 come Halftime. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter and the 4th ended in a 38-24 Tritons victory. 

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This will be played Wednesday night December 17th between the defending champions – the Hutchinson College Blue Dragons – and the Iowa Western College Reivers.
