From February 17th, 2016. Back when I was still referring to American Democrats as Liberals before I went along with reader requests to just say Democrats instead because they were no longer liberal and were, in fact, very illiberal.

” I realise now what I should have known years ago. The causes I most care about — secularism, freedom of speech, universal human rights — are not their (Liberals’) causes. Whatever they pretend, when the crunch comes, they will always put sectarian unity first and find reasons to be elsewhere.”

All you have to do is study the revolutions in Russia, China, and Cuba to see how the Leftist radical movement ends up.
I agree. As far back as the 1990s I was comparing Political Correctness to the Cultural Revolution in China.
