UNIVERSITY OF THE BAHAMAS
Team Name: MINGOES
Location: Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas
Division: UB is trying to join the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics)
Comment: “Mingoes” is short for Flamingoes. The University of the Bahamas was founded in 1974 and at present has a student body of approximately 8,800. If the Flamingoes succeed in joining the NAIA it’s a safe bet that the other teams will look forward to their away games because “it’s better in the Bahamas.”

It is a cool name. Yesterday, I told my son if I had a team I’d call it hummingbirds. That would surely scare everyone 🙂 They can be aggressive and fly upside down and backwards.
I did not know that about hummingbirds! Cool!
