PROUDLY PREVAILING POMEROYS – The ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS COLLEGE POMEROYS hosted the INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTHEAST GRENADIERS. By Halftime the Pomeroys had so completely dominated IUS that they held a comfortable 39-20 lead. After the break, SMWC kept the Grenadiers at arm’s length for a 69-58 victory. Greg Jenkins led the Pomeroys with 23 points and his teammate Shon Tupuola had a Double Double of 15 points and 18 rebounds.

STORM FRONT – The UNIVERSITY OF RIO GRANDE RED STORM took it on the road against the SHAWNEE STATE BEARS. Another lopsided game was in store here as the Red Storm were on top of their opponents 44-29 at the Half. From there they got more separation from Shawnee State to win out by a final score of 93-72. Twenty-three points from Eric Butler led URG.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams that scored 100 or more points in Regulation: The GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS played the visiting GOSHEN COLLEGE MAPLE LEAFS and eviscerated them to the tune of ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN to SIXTY-SEVEN ### The BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS won 103-91 at the HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS ### And the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS beat their hosts the OTTAWA (KS) BRAVES 110-88.
FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN – In this thriller the UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE-SOUTHERN FIREHAWKS took the court against the visiting BLUE MOUNTAIN CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY TOPPERS. The defenses dominated at first, with the Firehawks leading by a mere 28-26 at the midpoint. Points were more plentiful after the break and UTS triumphed by a final count of 67-62. Zaiden Cross tossed in 21 points to lead the Firehawks.
THIS GAME WAS FOR THE BIRDS – The LIFE UNIVERSITY RUNNING EAGLES faced the visiting POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS. The 1st Half ended with the Skyhawks up 43-36, but from there the Running Eagles asserted themselves. When all was said and done Life University (not affiliated with the School of Hard Knocks) had come from behind to win 80-71. Chaze Harris led the Running Eagles with 21 points.
CRUSADE IN MICHIGAN – The MADONNA UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS traveled to take on the SIENA HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY SAINTS. The Crusaders absolutely manhandled Siena Heights and by Halftime held a 44-27 advantage. Madonna U. then maintained distance from the Saints in an 82-66 triumph. Brendan Young of the Crusaders registered a Double Double of 24 points and 11 rebounds in this game.
ROAD WARRIORS – The BRESCIA UNIVERSITY BEARCATS won 87-83 at the INDIANA UNIVERSITY-COLUMBUS CRIMSON PRIDE ### Meanwhile, the THOMAS UNIVERSITY NIGHTHAWKS downed the ABRAHAM BALDWIN AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE STALLIONS 93-72 ### And the BETHEL (IN) PILOTS (Riverboat pilots) beat the MT. VERNON NAZARENE UNIVERSITY COUGARS 81-69.
GRAY BEATS GOLD – This game pitted the LOURDES UNIVERSITY GRAY WOLVES against their guests the CORNERSTONE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN EAGLES. The Gray Wolves were out in front 38-32 at the Half and managed a bit more separation from the Golden Eagles after the break. Lourdes University won 79-69. Shaunn Monroe’s 28 points led the Gray Wolves.
GENTLEMEN, START YOUR ENGINES – From the Garage in Lima, OH the UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN OHIO RACERS did battle with the visiting ROCHESTER CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY WARRIORS. The Racers were clinging to a tight 35-31 edge at Halftime but owned the 2nd Half, trashing RCU 88-69. THIRTY-TWO points from Antonio King led Northwestern Ohio.
RESISTANCE IS FEUDAL – See what I did there for this recap of the game between the MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE KNIGHTS and their guests the BREWTON-PARKER COLLEGE BARONS. The Knights showed the Barons that resistance was, well, you know as they led them 44-36 at the break and beat them 97-81. Milique Smith led the victors with a Double Double of 29 points and 20 rebounds.
