Team Name: THE SKYLANDERS
Location: Newton, NJ
Division: NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association)
Comment: Sussex County College was established in 1981 and can accommodate roughly 3,000 students.
The campus includes Connor Green, a memorial to victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. I-Beams from the destroyed World Trade Center were used in constructing the memorial.

Great posts as always. I mentioned before that I don’t take much of an interest in sports, but I’ve always found your posts interesting. This post about sports teams brought to mind classic sports movies that I have seen and love. For instance, it reminded me of the movie “Chariots of Fire”. Released the same year that the Sussex County College was established (1981), this was an inspirational sports movie about the game of running in the Olympics. The story itself isn’t that great but the performances, running scenes and sublime music have stood the test of time. It’s truly one of the best sports movies ever made. The music is iconic and simply sends shivers down my spine whenever I hear it.
Here’s why I recommend it strongly:
Hey, that’s quite a coincidence how Sussex County College was formed the same year that Chariots of Fire came out.
