south plains college texansCLOSE CALL FOR NUMBER ONE – The number 1 team in the nation – the SOUTH PLAINS COLLEGE TEXANS – visited the 11th ranked ODESSA COLLEGE WRANGLERS.

At Halftime the Wranglers were on top 32-27, but the Texans came out of the locker room primed for a comeback. Odessa rallied but fell just short as SPC held on by their fingertips for a 67-66 win. Jabori McGhee’s 21 points led the Texans.

Walters State SenatorsCENTURY CLUB – The (25) WALTERS STATE SENATORS won by a final score of 109-81 at the DYERSBURG STATE EAGLES   ###   Meanwhile, the WAUBONSEE COLLEGE CHIEFS routed the visiting WILBUR WRIGHT COLLEGE RAMS 111-76   ###   And the CASPER COLLEGE THUNDERBIRDS downed their guests the EASTERN WYOMING COLLEGE LANCERS by a final score of 101-90. 

northeastern oklahoma am golden norsemenTHE GOLDEN TOUCH – This game pitted the NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN against the visiting CONNORS STATE COWBOYS. By the midpoint the Golden Norsemen were clinging to a mere 37-36 edge. After the break, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M squeezed out a tiny bit more separation from the Cowboys for an 80-77 victory. Javarzia Belton tossed in 22 points to lead the Golden Norsemen.  

Eastern Arizona College Gila MonstersALL NAME GAMES – The EASTERN ARIZONA COLLEGE GILA MONSTERS triumphed in an 83-76 visit from the COCHISE COLLEGE APACHES   ###   Elsewhere, the GILLETTE COLLEGE PRONGHORNS took it on the road against the NORTHWEST COLLEGE TRAPPERS and beat them in Overtime 92-89   ###   And the ARIZONA WESTERN COLLEGE MATADORS outdid the YAVAPAI COLLEGE ROUGH RIDERS 79-60. 

Midland College ChaparralsTWO-POINT WONDER – In this game the MIDLAND COLLEGE CHAPARRALS took the court against their guests the CLARENDON COLLEGE BULLDOGS. The opening Half was so tight the score stood at Chaparrals 41  Bulldogs 40 going into the locker room. From there the teams kept virtually exchanging basket for basket with Midland College finally eking out an 80-78 triumph. Trey Clark led the Chaparrals with his Double Double of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Cape Fear College Sea DevilsROAD WARRIORS – The CAPE FEAR COLLEGE SEA DEVILS found themselves on the road against the SPARTANBURG METHODIST COLLEGE PIONEERS, whom they defeated 88-81   ###   Meanwhile, the GASTON COLLEGE RHINOS won 85-79 at the WAKE TECHNICAL EAGLES   ###   And the ROANE STATE RAIDERS beat their hosts the COLUMBIA STATE CHARGERS by a final tally of 64-63 in an undeniable Instant Classic.

albany tech titansDOUBLE OVERTIME CLASSIC – It was a case of Titan on Titan violence here as the ALBANY TECH TITANS visited the CENTRAL GEORGIA TECH TITANS. Central GA Tech was in front 36-35 at the Half but Albany Tech tied things up 68-68 to end Regulation. The 1st OT ended in an 81-81 deadlock, but in the 2nd Overtime A-Tech snuck past CGT 93-91. Twenty points from Chase Hill led the victors.   

Miami Dade College Sharks coolerPUTTING IN OVERTIME – The MIAMI-DADE COUNTY COLLEGE SHARKS managed a 71-69 OT victory over the visiting HILLSBOROUGH COLLEGE HAWKS   ###   Elsewhere, the (4) DAYTONA STATE COLLEGE FALCONS outlasted their guests the (20) FLORIDA SOUTHWESTERN STATE BUCCANEERS 109-106 in the extra session   ###   And the MONROE COLLEGE MUSTANGS won an 82-73 Overtime clash with the LACKAWANNA COLLEGE FALCONS.

  2. Canna believe you’re not all over the upcoming Stupid Bowl. Why, one or two years of dedicating all funds wasted on this [expletive] to scientific hoo-doo, we could find a cure for one or more major ills – the common cold, TaylorSwiftism, or Democrack Dementia- maybe, huh?

    • Yeah, just can’t get worked up for Superbowls anymore. I agree that a lot more productive things could be done with the money spent. Not sure if there IS a cure for those illnesses, though.
