NUMBER NINETY-NINE – Yesterday was the 99th Turkey Day Classic, the annual Thanksgiving Day football game between the NCAA Division Two TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN TIGERS and the home standing NCAA Division One ALABAMA STATE HORNETS.
After several years of utter dominance by the Golden Tigers, the Hornets in recent years have been reasserting themselves and that was certainly the case this time around. Alabama State seized a quick 13-0 advantage in the 1st Quarter, then made that a 20-3 lead going into Halftime.
The Hornets shut out Tuskegee the rest of the way while adding 21 more points of their own for a 41-3 blowout victory.
