SOMEONE’S “O” HAD TO GO – In a battle of unbeaten teams the KEISER UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS traveled to face the SOUTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY FIRE. After a 14-14 tie in the opening Quarter the Seahawks led 24-14 at the Half. From there the Fire pulled to within 3 points but no further as Keiser improved to 4-0 with a 31-28 triumph.
INSTANT CLASSIC IN ATCHISON – The BENEDICTINE COLLEGE RAVENS welcomed the PERU STATE BOBCATS yesterday. A 14-7 1st Quarter lead for the Ravens became a 21-21 tie at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended with Benedictine College up 28-27 over the Bobcats before winning it 31-27 when all was said and done.
CRUSADE IN MISSOURI – The EVANGEL UNIVERSITY CRUSADERS took on the visiting CLARKE UNIVERSITY PRIDE in this game. The Crusaders led 7-6 in the 1st Quarter and 21-6 at the break before the Pride fought to within 21-13 in the 3rd. Evangel University flexed their muscles in the 4th for a 28-13 victory.
ROAD WARRIORS – The ARIZONA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY FIRESTORM took it on the road against the OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE STATE OKIES and spanked them 28-13 ### And the GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS (should be Zebras) crushed their hosts the CENTRAL METHODIST UNIVERSITY EAGLES 57-7.
BUILDING A MOUND OF POINTS – The SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE MOUNDBUILDERS kept their guests the MCPHERSON COLLEGE MASTIFFS off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter. Meanwhile they parlayed a 3-0 1st Quarter edge into a 31-0 Halftime lead and ultimately a 45-7 blowout win.
ONE TEAM WAS PLAYING BASKETBALL – The DORDT COLLEGE DEFENDERS annihilated the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES to the tune of 66-13 ### While the FRIENDS UNIVERSITY FALCONS kicked around the visiting STERLING COLLEGE WARRIORS 56-21 ### And the WALDORF COLLEGE WARRIORS beat the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS 55-21.
DUEL IN DAKOTA – The DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS took the field against the visiting DAKOTA STATE TROJANS yesterday. The Blue Hawks dominated the Trojans on both sides of the ball, leading 13-0 at the break and winning it by a final count of 23-3
HAPPY HOMECOMINGS – The two-time defending National Champions – the MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS – celebrated Homecoming with a 68-3 obliteration of the BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY CHARGERS ### And the MIDLAND UNIVERSITY WARRIORS logged a 43-0 Shutout of their Homecoming opponents, the HASTINGS COLLEGE BRONCOS.
FORTY-TWO – The KANSAS WESLEYAN COYOTES defeated the WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN in a 42-6 drubbing ### And 42 points were also the magic number for the VALLEY CITY STATE VIKINGS as they hammered the PRESENTATION COLLEGE SAINTS (should be the Angels) 42-13.
NCAA DIVISION TWO
DOUBLING UP ON THE COMPETITION – The SOUTH DAKOTA M&T HARDROCKERS took the field against the visiting BLACK HILLS STATE YELLOW JACKETS. The Yellow Jackets were on top 7-0 in the 1st Quarter but the Hardrockers came back to lead it 24-7 at the Half. Black Hills State pulled to within 24-17 to end the 3rd Quarter but South Dakota M&T dominated the 4th for a 34-17 triumph.
WE WENT TO A FOOTBALL GAME BUT A BASEBALL GAME BROKE OUT – The COLORADO MESA UNIVERSITY MAVERICKS welcomed the CHADRON STATE EAGLES on Saturday. This textbook example of a Defensive Epic ended in a 7-7 4th Quarter tie. In the Overtime session the defenses played just as tough but the Mavericks won out in the end 10-7.
NCAA DIVISION THREE
THUNDEROUS WIN – The TRINE UNIVERSITY THUNDER played host to the MANCHESTER UNIVERSITY SPARTANS yesterday. The Thunder dominated their opponents on both sides of the ball, leading 20-0 at Halftime and winning the game in a THIRTY-SEVEN to NOTHING shutout.
