NUMBER FOUR GETS SHOT DOWN – The storied CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO RAMS traveled to face the number 4 team in the rankings – the AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS. A 20-6 1st Quarter lead for the Rams became 30-12 at Halftime and 30-26 in the 3rd Quarter. From there CCSF added 10 more points while shutting out the Beavers for a 40-26 wrapup.
WHEN RANKED TEAMS CLASH – The 3rd ranked RIVERSIDE COLLEGE TIGERS found themselves on the road against the number 10 BAKERSFIELD COLLEGE RENEGADES. The Tigers put up 7 points in each of the 4 Quarters and led the Renegades 7-0 in the 1st Quarter, 14-6 at the Half and 21-13 in the 3rd. Bakersfield College nearly came back for a win but fell short as Riverside College won it 28-26.
RUSTLING UP A BLOWOUT – The GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE RUSTLERS welcomed the CHAFFEY COLLEGE PANTHERS. The Rustlers kept the Panthers off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter while producing 7, 13 and 7 more points in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Quarters respectively. The final tally in this lopsided game was Golden West College 27 Chaffey College 6.
A TALE OF TWO OWLS TEAMS – The FOOTHILLS COLLEGE FIGHTING OWLS did battle with the CABRILLO COLLEGE SEAHAWKS and defeated them in a 32-25 thriller ### And the CITRUS COLLEGE OWLS edged the SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE WOLVERINES in a tight 14-13 epic of the gridiron.
SHUTOUT – The SAN DIEGO MESA COLLEGE OLYMPIANS visited the COMPTON COLLEGE TARTARS. In the 1st Quarter the Olympians seized an 11-0 advantage over the Tartars followed by a 25-0 lead at Halftime. A 10 point 3rd Quarter for San Diego Mesa College let them coast to a 35-0 shutout victory on the road.
SPIRIT OF FIFTY-ONE – The SOUTHWESTERN (CA) COLLEGE JAGUARS absolutely stunned their guests the PIERCE COLLEGE BRAHMA BULLS, smacking them around to the tune of 51-13 ### And the VENTURA COLLEGE PIRATES likewise crushed their visitors the ORANGE COAST COLLEGE PIRATES 51-10.
UNDER THE RADAR CLASSIC – This game pitted the ANTELOPE VALLEY COLLEGE MARAUDERS against the home-standing EAST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE HUSKIES. The Marauders led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter but by the break the Huskies were on top 8-7. That flip-flopped to a 13-8 advantage for Antelope Valley College in the 3rd and ultimately a 16-14 Marauder victory.
ROADRUNNERS TRIUMPHANT – The COLLEGE OF THE DESERT ROADRUNNERS took the field against the WEST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE WILDCATS and emerged with a 24-15 triumph ### And the BUTTE COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS won a 31-21 affair against the CHABOT COLLEGE GLADIATORS.
MPC IS A-OK – The MONTEREY PENINSULA COLLEGE LOBOS were on the road against the SAN JOSE COLLEGE JAGUARS. A tight 7-6 1st Quarter edge for the Lobos became a much more comfortable 20-6 advantage at Halftime. From there Monterey Peninsula College coasted to a 34-13 victory.
