NJCAA COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS: WEEK THREE

Independence Pirates helmetDOWN GOES NUMBER THREE – The INDEPENDENCE COLLEGE PIRATES welcomed the defending National Champions – the number 3 GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS. The score was tied at 14-14 by Halftime but from there the Pirates outscored the Broncbusters 13-9 to pull off a nation-shaking 27-23 upset.

Hutchinson Blue DragonsNINETY-ONE – The storied HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS improved to 2-1, bouncing back from last week’s loss to Iowa Western. The REZOLUTION (sic) ACADEMY WILDCATS were on hand for the Blue Dragons to take out their anger on. The Wildcats may want to just burn the game film for this laugher since Hutchinson College eviscerated them NINETY-ONE to NOTHING!

Vermilion College Ironmen helmetVICTORIOUS VERMILION – The VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN took the field against the MINNESOTA TECH SPARTANS on Saturday. The Ironmen trailed the Spartans 7-0 after 1 Quarter of play but knotted things up at 7-7 by the break. The 3rd Quarter ended with Vermilion College on top 14-7 and from there the Ironmen won it 28-7.

Itasca Vikngs helmetONE POINT WONDER – The ITASCA COLLEGE VIKINGS took it on the road against the RIDGEWATER COLLEGE WARRIORS. The Warriors led the Vikings 6-0 in the 1st Quarter and 13-7 at the midpoint. After the break the Vikings fell behind 20-7 to end the 3rd Quarter but a 14-point 4th Quarter gave Itasca College a come from behind 21-20 victory.    

Kilgore CollegeSHUTOUTS – The KILGORE COLLEGE RANGERS played host to the ARKANSAS BAPTIST COLLEGE BUFFALOES on Saturday. The Rangers shot out to a 21-0 lead in the 1st Quarter and parlayed that into a FIFTY-FIVE to NOTHING triumph.    ###    And the DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS took on the TEXAS A&T DRILLERS, crushing them in a FIFTY-TWO to NOTHING yawner.

Northland College PioneersROAD RAMPAGE – The NORTHLAND COLLEGE PIONEERS traveled to face the FOND DU LAC TRIBAL COLLEGE THUNDER. A 17-0 1st Quarter lead for the Pioneers became a 37-0 advantage by Halftme. After the break Northland College coasted to a 44-6 beat-down of the Thunder.

Minnesota West Bluejays helmetUNDER THE RADAR CLASSICS – The MINNESOTA WEST BLUE JAYS entertained the MESABI RANGE COLLEGE NORSE and outlasted them in a 30-23 thriller    ###    Meanwhile the MESA COLLEGE THUNDERBIRDS topped their hosts the EASTERN ARIZONA COLLEGE GILA MONSTERS 26-21   ###    And the ROCHESTER TECHNICAL COLLEGE YELLOW JACKETS edged the home-standing DAKOTA COLLEGE LUMBERJACKS 24-21.

Ellsworth College Panthers helmet NEWWORKING OVERTIME – The ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS squared off against the visiting IOWA CENTRAL COLLEGE TRITONS in this game. The Panthers and Tritons were tied up at 14-14 by the break, with the 3rd Quarter ending at 21-21 and the 4th in a 28-28 deadlock. In the Overtime Session Ellsworth College won it 35-28.

Hocking College HawksHIGH-FLYING HAWKS – The HOCKING COLLEGE HAWKS found themselves on the road against the ERIE COLLEGE KATS (sic). An action-packed opening Quarter ended with the Hawks on top 21-14. At the break that lead expanded to 36-20 and from there Hocking College went on to win the game by a final score of 50-28.

Coffeyville Red Ravens helmetNOT SINCE THE DALTON GANG … – The COFFEYVILLE COLLEGE RED RAVENS hosted the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES in a furious fight to rival Coffeyville’s take-down of the Dalton Gang. The Red Ravens led 14-7 in the 1st Quarter and 28-21 at Halftime. In the 3rd Quarter the Grizzles fell behind 35-24 before falling just short of a rally as Coffeyville College triumphed 35-32.  

Cisco College helmetCOMEBACK KIDS – The CISCO COLLEGE WRANGLERS visited the NEW MEXICO MILITARY INSTITUTE BRONCOS (should be the Cavalry). The Broncos grabbed a quick 21-7 lead but by the Half the Wranglers cut that to a 21-14 advantage. The 3rd Quarter ended with Cisco College trailing by just 24-21 and in the 4th the Wranglers eked out a nailbiting 40-38 victory.
