NUMBER NINE TAKES A FALL – The HAMILTON COLLEGE CONTINENTALS welcomed the number 9 team in the nation – the WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY CARDINALS. The Continentals put the Cardinals on Upset Alert with a 41-32 Halftime lead, then closed the deal by a final score of 92-76. Andrew Groll led Hamilton College with a Double-Double of 20 points and 14 rebounds.
CENTURY CLUB – Teams scoring 100 or more points in Regulation included: The WILSON COLLEGE PHOENIX and their guests the SAINT ELIZABETH EAGLES had a shootout for the ages, with the Phoenix winning it 104-100 ### Meanwhile the HILBERT COLLEGE HAWKS eviscerated the PITT-GREENSBURG BOBCATS to the tune of 104-62 ### And the MEDAILLE COLLEGE MAVERICKS folded, spindled and mutilated the MOUNT ALOYSIUS MOUNTIES 112-50.

LOOKING OUT FOR NUMBER ONE – The top-ranked BABSON COLLEGE BEAVERS traveled to face the SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE PRIDE. The opening Half was a defensive battle, but by the break the Beavers managed a 28-24 edge. From there the offenses got rolling, with Babson College keeping the Pride at just enough distance for a 73-68 road win. Joey Flannery led the Beavers with THIRTY-FIVE points.
NUMBER TWO TRIES HARDER – The second-ranked team in the nation – the WHITMAN COLLEGE BLUES – played host to the PACIFIC COLLEGE BOXERS yesterday. The Blues jumped out to a 45-25 Halftime lead over the Boxers and after the break they poured it on for a 99-69 blowout victory. Jase Harrison tossed in 19 points to lead Babson.
FEAR THE YELLOWJACKETS – The 4th ranked UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER YELLOWJACKETS took the court against the visiting EMORY UNIVERSITY EAGLES. It was a very one-sided affair with the Yellowjackets parlaying a 46-31 lead at the Half into an 84-54 final tally. Mack Montague led the way for the victors with 19 points.
CHALK – The number 5 WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY PIRATES won an 87-81 battle with the LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS ### The 8th ranked TUFTS UNIVERSITY JUMBOS took it on the road to beat the COLBY COLLEGE WHITE MULES 84-70 ### And the number 10 NORTH PARK VIKINGS edged their hosts the NORTH CENTRAL CARDINALS by a final score of 76-73.

ROAD WARRIORS – The CENTENARY (LA) GENTS (Gentlemen) traveled to face the TRINITY (TX) UNIVERSITY TIGERS on Saturday and took them down 79-71 ### Meanwhile the UW-STEVENS POINT POINTERS notched a 76-58 triumph at the UW-LACROSSE EAGLES ### And the NORTH CENTRAL (MN) RAMS toppled their hosts the CROWN COLLEGE STORM in a 95-76 game.
WORKING OVERTIME – Forty minutes wasn’t enough for the CLARKSON UNIVERSITY GOLDEN KNIGHTS and the UNION COLLEGE DUTCHMEN, as the Golden Knights logged a 75-73 Overtime road win ### The ITHACA COLLEGE BOMBERS defeated the HARTWICK HAWKS in OT 106-103 ### And the UNIVERSITY OF SAINT THOMAS TOMMIES eked out a 62-61 OT win over the CARLETON KNIGHTS.
