Antelope Valley CollegeHIGH DESERT BOWL – In this game the ANTELOPE VALLEY COLLEGE MARAUDERS took on the VICTOR VALLEY COLLEGE RAMS. The teams went blow for blow, with a 7-7 1st Quarter tie and a 14-14 Halftime draw. After the break the Marauders got some separation from the Rams, ultimately winning the game 35-21.  

Mount San Antonio College MountiesGOLDEN STATE BOWL – The MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE MOUNTIES clashed with the COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS COUGARS in this year’s Golden State Bowl. The Mounties actually fell behind 3-0 in the 1st Quarter but never let the Cougars score again. By the midpoint Mount SAC led 17-3  and in the 2nd Half coasted to a 27-3 victory.

Los angeles valley monarchsCHAMPIONSHIP BOWL – One of the best games of the day on Saturday was this affair between the LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE MONARCHS and the SOUTHWESTERN (CA) COLLEGE JAGUARS. The Monarchs led 7-0 in the 1st Quarter but trailed the Jaguars 13-10 at the Half. The 3rd Quarter ended with Los Angeles Valley College clinging to a 17-16 edge and in the 4th the Monarchs added 7 points for a 24-16 win.

East Lost Angeles Huskies helmetPATRIOTIC BOWL – The EAST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE HUSKIES squared off against the COLLEGE OF THE DESERT ROADRUNNERS. This was a game of shifting momentum as the Huskies got off to a quick 21-7 1st Quarter lead which was whittled down to 28-20 by Halftime. The Roadrunners ended the 3rd Quarter with a 37-35 edge only to give up 28 unanswered points in the 4th as ELAC won it 63-37.

Long Beach cc vikings helmetWESTERN STATE BOWL – A gridiron grudge match was in store in this Bowl as the LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE VIKINGS (should be the Beachcombers) played the BAKERSFIELD COLLEGE RENEGADES. In the 1st Quarter the Renegades led 13-6 but the Vikings went on top 27-20 by the break. From there Long Beach kept Bakersfield at arm’s length for a 47-41 triumph.

Moorpark CollegeBEACH BOWL – In this event the MOORPARK COLLEGE RAIDERS were up against the SANTA BARBARA CITY COLLEGE VAQUEROS. This was a very lopsided affair as the Raiders seized a fast 21-0 lead and never looked back. In the end Moorpark College lambasted the Vaqueros to the tune of 49-12.

merced-blue-devils-helmet-newSTADIUM 76 BOWL – This Bowl was played the night of Friday the 18th to kick off the weekend. The MERCED COLLEGE BLUE DEVILS collided with the HARTNELL COLLEGE PANTHERS in a game where “defense” was the watchword. A scoreless 1st Quarter was followed by a 7-7 Halftime deadlock. Neither team scored in the 3rd Quarter but the Blue Devils eked out a 14-13 win in the 4th.

west-hills-coalinga-falcons-helmets-newAMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP BOWL – This Bowl pitted the WEST HILLS-COALINGA COLLEGE FALCONS against the SHASTA COLLEGE KNIGHTS. The Knights held a 14-7 lead at the midpoint of the game, a lead which still held up at the end of the 3rd Quarter. However in the 4th the Falcons came storming from behind to win the game 20-14.

Santa Rosa Bear CubsGRIDIRON CLASSIC BOWL – The SANTA ROSA COLLEGE BEAR CUBS played the COLLEGE OF THE SISKIYOUS EAGLES. The Bear Cubs methodically built a lead, topping the Eagles by a score of 7-0 in the 1st Quarter, 14-7 at the Half and 17-7 in the 3rd. That ended the scoring as Santa Rosa notched a 17-7 win over Siskiyous.  

Sacramento City CollegeSTATE CENTER BOWL – The SACRAMENTO CITY COLLEGE PANTHERS were in a game for the ages against the DIABLO VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS (should be the Green Devils). The 1st Half was a mostly defensive affair and ended with the Panthers holding a 7-3 advantage. The offenses got rolling in the 2nd Half with the Vikings chasing Sacramento City College until the Panthers took it 20-16.
