REIVERS BEAT DOWN BUTLER – In a meeting of two power-packed teams the IOWA WESTERN COLLEGE REIVERS thoroughly dismantled the traditional bullies on the block of the Jayhawk Conference – the BUTLER (KS) GRIZZLIES. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the Reivers went up 14-0 by Halftime and never looked back. Iowa Western won by a final tally of FORTY-NINE to SEVEN!
GET OUT OF DODGE! – The DODGE CITY COLLEGE CONQUISTADORS welcomed the ELLSWORTH COLLEGE PANTHERS on Saturday. Each team put up 7 points in the 1st Quarter but then the Conquistadors seized a 14-7 advantage by the break. The 2nd Half was just as tight with Dodge City College clinging to a 17-14 edge in the 3rd Quarter before winning it 24-14.
ONE POINT WONDERS – Games decided by just one single point: the PIMA COLLEGE AZTECS took on the visiting SCOTTSDALE COLLEGE FIGHTING ARTICHOKES and – after a 22-13 Halftime lead for the Aztecs the Fighting Artichokes fought back. Pima College held on for a 34-33 win. ### And the NORTHLAND PIONEERS edged the MINNESOTA WEST BLUE JAYS in a 19-18 nailbiter.
KANSAS KLASSIC – The GARDEN CITY COLLEGE BRONCBUSTERS were on the road against the storied HUTCHINSON COLLEGE BLUE DRAGONS in this game. The opening Quarter ended in a 13-7 lead for the Broncbusters but the Blue Dragons made it a 14-13 game by Halftime. From there Garden City College prevailed by a score of 16-14.
