To help us all hang on until the 2016 college football season kicks off Balladeer’s Blog looks at some of the coolest helmets in the NJCAA.
The ASA College Avengers (logo at left) have the coolest helmet logo in the NJCAA, but it fades in a little too much against their purple helmets to be sufficiently visible in pictures.
A white helmet might make it show up better, but at any rate their decal will instead serve as this article’s main pic to open things up with everyone’s favorite purple-flamed Goth android skull logo.
Now with your appetites whetted, dive in and sample the coolest helmets in NJCAA college football:
Location: Highland, KS
Comment: As a lifelong dog lover I’m a sucker for any helmets sporting pictures of canines. I need to do a cool dog helmets vs cool cat helmets article sometime in the future.
Location: Bottineau, ND
Comment: They’re Lumberjacks and they’re okay! … Had to be said. Now we need a college football team called the Parrots so I can do a “pinin’ for the fjords” reference!
Location: Brenham, TX
Comment: Blinn College has long been a power in NJCAA football. Their most famous player of recent years was Heisman winner Cam Newton before he transferred to Auburn.
Location: Fort Dodge, IA
Comment: What other helmet makes an “I” and a “C” look THIS stylish? Plus the name Tritons was always bound to appeal to a mythology geek like me. And the Tritons won their Bowl game last postseason!
5. EAST MISSISSIPPI LIONS
Location: Scooba, MS
Comment: Pack your Scooba gear and bring along some Scooba snacks while I point out that the Lions are the defending champions of NJCAA football!
4. COLLEGE OF DUPAGE CHAPARRALS
Location: Glen Ellyn, IL
Comment: No Blue Boy, no Uncle Buck, no problem! This is not the High Chaparral and it’s not in Arizona, but the College of DuPage sports teams always compete hot and heavy!
Location: Council Bluffs, IA
Comment: Historic Council Bluffs is the home to this college whose football team has been making some history of its own during its brief but impressive period of existence.
2. NEW MEXICO MILITARY INSTITUTE BRONCOS
Location: Roswell, NM
Comment: The story is well known: in 1947 a strange craft crashed near Roswell, New Mexico. Now the truth can be told: it was a spaceship loaded with intergalactic tailgaters who arrived VERY early for an NMMI football game.
Location: Hutchinson, KS
Comment: I want to strap on that helmet and take the field myself for this team! The Blue Dragons can really light up the scoreboard and the team is known affectionately as “Hutch” to its fans so I propose that their band should play David Soul’s hit song Don’t Give Up On Us, Baby after every touchdown.

Go lumberjacks!
Always good to hear from the fans!
Those helmets should help with the players’ self esteem.
Ha! That’s for sure.
DONALD TRUMP IS THE GREATEST PRESIDENT EVER!
Blue Dragons! Yeah!
You said it!
