The 111th U.S. Open continues at the International Polo Club in Palm Beach.
VALIENTE VS LECHUZA CARACAS – This battle for a berth in the Semifinals was all defense in the 1st Chukker, which ended in a 1-1 tie. The offenses got rolling in the 2nd Chukker, which finished with a 5-3 lead for Lechuza Caracas – the White Owls – over Valiente – the Valiants. Chukker number 3 saw the Valiants come from behind to hold a lead of 7 goals to 6 headed into Halftime.
In the 4th Chukker Valiente expanded their lead to 9-6 before a Lechuza Caracas goal at the 30 second bell made it a 9-7 game. The White Owls got it back to a 1 goal difference as the 5th Chukker ended in an 11-10 edge for the Valiants. That became a 13-12 advantage with 3 minutes to play in the 6th and final Chukker but from there both defenses went on to shut out the opposition’s offense. Valiente goes on to face Audi in Wednesday’s Semifinals with this 13-12 victory.
Adolfo Cambiosa led the Valiants with 7 goals, while Nico Pieres led the White Owls with 8 of their goals.
COCA COLA VS FLEXJET – This match saw Coca Cola – the Red Colossus – fly out to a 5-2 lead over Flexjet – the Aviators – in the 1st Chukker of play. That grew to a 7-3 advantage in the 2nd Chukker following which the two teams exhanged a mere goal apiece in the 3rd Chukker for an 8-4 Coca Cola lead going into Halftime.
The Red Colossus got even more separation in Chukker number 4 as they seized an 11-6 advantage. In the 5th Chukker the Aviators cut the Coca Cola lead to just 11-9 with 3 goals in a row from Nic Roldan. However the Red Colossus offense made it a 13-9 score to end the 5th. The 6th Chukker saw Coca Cola stay in control while working the clock in expert fashion and ultimately the Red Colossus won the match 15-10. They will face Orchard Hill in Wednesday’s Semifinals.

2:30pm – Coca Cola vs Orchard Hill
5:00pm – Audi vs Valiente
