Mount Mercy University MustangsCHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The top seeded MOUNT MERCY UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS did battle with the 3rd seeded WILLIAM PENN UNIVERSITY STATESMEN for the MCC title yesterday. The Mustangs prevented the Statesmen from winning their 3rd conference tournament crown in a row, defeating them handily by a final score of 93-76. James Boonstoppel and Kyle Lamaak each had 20 points for Mount Mercy University.   * THE MUSTANGS MOVE ON TO THE NAIA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT! *

Dakota State Trojans logoSEMIFINAL ROUND – In the unusual tournament format employed by the NSAA there is only one game in the Semifinal Round. The top seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF JAMESTOWN JIMMIES, got to skip the Quarterfinals and Semifinals and went straight to the Championship Game after their First Round victory last Wednesday. Yesterday the 2nd seeded DAKOTA STATE TROJANS played the 4 seeds – the MAYVILLE STATE COMETS – for the right to play the Jimmies in the title game. The Trojans won 75-57. Derek Meger led Dakota State with 16 points while his teammate Miguel Sansavour notched a Double Double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Herkimer Generals logo BIGDISTRICT 301 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title game pitted the top seeded HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS against the 2 seeds – the MOHAWK VALLEY COLLEGE HAWKS. This was a truly physical affair and when all of the dust had settled the Generals emerged with a 74-67 victory. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HERKIMER COLLEGE GENERALS, THE DISTRICT 301 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *

Rock Valley College Golden EaglesDISTRICT 302 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – A.A. Willis Gymnasium was the site of this hardcourt showdown between the top seeded ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE GOLDEN EAGLES and the 3rd seeded MADISON COLLEGE WOLFPACK. Things were tight until the Golden Eagles inevitably got a little separation between themselves and the Wolfpack for a 64-54 win. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ROCK VALLEY COLLEGE GOLDEN EAGLES, THE DISTRICT 302 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *  

Richland College Thunder ducksDISTRICT 303 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The RICHLAND COLLEGE THUNDER DUCKS and the MOUNTAIN VIEW COLLEGE LIONS were the last two teams standing in this District. The Thunder Ducks put on an absolute offensive clinic in their quest for the crown, eviscerating the outclassed Lions by a final Century-Club worthy tally of ONE HUNDRED ONE to SIXTY-SEVEN. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RICHLAND COLLEGE THUNDER DUCKS, THE DISTRICT 303 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *    

Rochester Tech Yellow Jackets logoDISTRICT 304 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This was already a contest of champions, as the South Champs, the ROCHESTER TECH YELLOW JACKETS, clashed with the North Champs, the VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN. An Instant Classic was the result, but in the end only one team could win and that team was Rochester Tech. The final score in this thriller was Yellow Jackets 76  Ironmen 73. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ROCHESTER TECH YELLOW JACKETS, THE DISTRICT 304 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *    

Hostos College CaimansDISTRICT 305 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This game put the spotlight on a true Cinderella team as the 6th seeded HOSTOS COLLEGE CAIMANS did battle with the top seeded BOROUGH OF MANHATTAN COLLEGE PANTHERS for the District Title. The Caimans kept their upset mojo going as they took down the Panthers in a 69-62 battle royal. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HOSTOS COLLEGE CAIMANS, THE DISTRICT 305 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *

Community College of Philadelphia ColonialsDISTRICT 306 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This District’s title bout saw a favorite put a stop to the dreams of a Cinderella team. The top seeded COLLEGE OF PHILADELPHIA COLONIALS played the 7 seeds – the CAMDEN COLLEGE COUGARS. The Colonials had a real fight on their hands but in the end lived up to their seeding, knocking off the Cougars in a 68-62 hardcourt chess match. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE COLLEGE OF PHILADELPHIA COLONIALS, THE DISTRICT 306 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *

Roxbury College TigersDISTRICT 308 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – District 307 played its title game yesterday, so this game filled in the final blank of the Elite Eight teams who will compete for the National Championship. Another Cinderella danced this time around as the 5th seeded ROXBURY COLLEGE TIGERS mixed it up with the 3rd seeded SPRINGFIELD TECH RAMS. The Tigers won by double-digits in this 80-63 stunner. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ROXBURY COLLEGE TIGERS, THE DISTRICT 308 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *  

College of Baltimore County - Dundalk LionsDISTRICT 214 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The COLLEGE OF BALTIMORE COUNTY AT DUNDALK LIONS collided with the Cinderella NORTHERN VIRGINIA COLLEGE NOVAS in this game. It was an Instant Classic but in the end the Lions finally rang Midnight for Northern Virginia, eliminating them by a score of 83-78. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LIONS, THE DISTRICT 214 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *

Garrett College LakersDISTRICT 215 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – This title tilt was between the GARRETT COLLEGE LAKERS and the POTOMAC STATE CATAMOUNTS. When all the dust had settled the Lakers emerged as the champs for the second year in a row as they raced past the Catamounts by a final tally of 71-60. * CONGRATULATIONS TO THE LAKERS, THE DISTRICT 215 CHAMPIONS AS THEY MOVE ON TO THE NATIONAL TOURNAMENT. *
