Aziz Yazdanpanah, who allegedly committed the hate crime of killing six members of his family and then killing himself this past Christmas morning was also outraged that his daughter was dating someone outside his “faith.” If you guessed he belonged to the outdated, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynist religion called Islam you’d be correct. And let’s face it, the only people who couldn’t have guessed are delusional left wing political zealots who think they’re somehow “sticking it” to delusional right wing political zealots by whitewashing the Muslim faith in the many incidents like this that take place.
I’ll point out again that I’m a non-believer when it comes to religion, and I think all such beliefs are just mythology, but even I have been unable to ignore the gutless hypocrisy of people who love to trumpet violent acts by Christian fanatics while ignoring or downplaying violent acts by Muslim fanatics. Trust me, if this killer had been a Christian loony killing his family over some ridiculous religious reason or if he had killed his daughter because she had an abortion that would have been the angle that led these news stories.
Does the increasingly demented American left believe Islam supports gay rights, women’s rights (especially reproductive freedom) or freedom of religion? The left’s contempt for Christianity for its opposition to such concepts looks like nothing but cowardly hypocrisy when you consider how silent they tend to be about criticizing Islam for holding similar outdated views.

I am glad you mentioned “angle” and this is something that really bursts my bubble. I hate media and the way that they “make a stand” against everything and everything. That they no longer (or if they ever did) have any morals or ethics of any kind is a huge issue. They spin a story how they want it told, to get societies knickers in a twist and angry, upset, up in arms, demanding retribution, all giving a collective sigh you name it at whatever they think needs it at any given time.
They make the public beleive that what is going on in celebrities lives is more important than the actual state of affairs in the world. They spin a story to get a story sold rather than actually reporting the news. In fact, I do feel that all news station tag lines should be, “giving you the news the way we see it; not the way it is”. And then! They wonder why society seems “depressed”… tisk tisk tisk shame on them.
And… since I am already rambling, the way Western society views China really irks me. Ever notice that those that don’t like something complain the loudest and everyone seems to hear it? Yet when someone praises something or other, no one hears it? And then as soon as someone (internationally) complains or criticises the way American’s do things American’s seem to get up in arms about it. And then get nasty the way many countries have a stereotype regarding Americans.
It seems as if the news these days are attempting their very own hate crimes, but yet no one seems to see it.

If America has all these rights and freedoms they want pushed on the rest of the world because they are so good and for the betterment of humanity, then why the heck can’t they practice what they preach?

The media in the United States are little more than publicists for either the Democratic party or the Republican party and have no clue about objective journalism. You are dead on right about that. The people in television news are the worst and are all about making themselves into celebrities and not about professionalism or integrity.

I also agree with your remark about how people in the media like to pretend they are all about “international understanding” when in reality they are about stoking animosity between nations with sensationalized stories.
And yes, it is pretty ironic that at a time when many nations might be open to embracing some of the freedoms we have here in America that our repulsive Liberals and Conservatives spend all their time arguing over what liberties need to be limited next.
There are a very few things in the world that make me want to take people and shake some sense into them. Life is way too serious and short to let things that really don’t matter get to you.
And one of them… is trying to change people who don’t want to be changed.We always think our way is best. And I am not saying that any of these religious people have it right. If one shoves their views down someone’s throat … they rebel worse than a teenager when you want them to take that wretched make-up off their face.
Bottom line. Everyone is different. And yes everyone should be treated with respect. BUT many of these religions, is they “feel” (I don’t know how to use italics in the comments!!!) they are being respectful of women because this is just how it is for them. Is it right or wrong? Yes and no. It is not a black and white issue. It is a whole lot of grey. However; this man who killed six members of his family was very much in the wrong because he broke the law of the land.
One makes the choice to live where they do. If you are not happy with the laws and the way life is, the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

I know what you mean, I’m tired of the Muslim world trying to force their views down the throats of the rest of the world and expecting us to have to live by the same backward rules they do. The superstitious savagery of killing people for drawing pictures they don’t approve of, expecting to have Sharia law in certain parts of the countries they migrate to and continuing the barbaric practice of “honor” killings. And not being inclusive by refusing to let gay people get married in mosques, etc. It’s pretty repulsive behavior on their part. And the Muslim treatment of women is oppressive and violent.

Absolutely! I often used to encounter left-wing zealots who felt they were hurting the clueless George W Bush by sympathizing with Islam, but I always pointed out to them that long after George W Bush was out of the Oval Office the Muslim world would still be largely xenophobic, homophobic and misogynist. Left-wing zealots were cheering the downfall of Mubarek in Egypt but were, as usual, clueless to what kind of people were taking over.

I make a point of drawing their attention to all the bashing of Christian fanatics that we get exposed to every day. If you refer to such things as “Christophobia” in a sarcastic tone every time you see an example the gutless liberal hypocrite will very soon get so tired of hearing you say it that it will stay with them every time they are about to pretend criticizing Islam is “Islamophobia”.

You can count me as another former liberal who grew disgusted with liberals after 9-11. I’ll never be a conservative but I know now I’ll never consider myself a liberal ever again after the way liberals became non-stop apologists for Islam after 9-11.

You should see some of the bizarrely obscene emails I get from liberals who often read one of my sports items about a college sports team that might happen to have the word “Christian” in the title. They assume I must be a Christian myself because of that, so I get a nice sampling of how the cowardly American left treats Christians while simultaneously dropping to their bellies to crawl for Islam.

I’m tired of Islam being treated like the only religion you’re not allowed to criticize and I’m sick of cowardly liberals (talk about redundant) acting like it’s only the religious right that is fed up with Islam. They may think they’re doing Islam a favor by surrendering to it and insisting it deserves special treatment but all they are really doing is making more and more people resent that special treatment.
