We are just 12 days away from the Frontierado holiday on Friday August 5th.We’ve examined Sagas, weird westerns, quality westerns and other Frontierado traditions. Time for another drink recipe for those of legal drinking age. Previously I gave you the recipe for a Cactus Jack and now I’ll give you the recipe for another traditional Frontierado drink. It’s called a Deuces Wild and like a Cactus Jack it’s my own recipe.
To make a Deuces Wild you first combine 2 parts Tequila with 3 parts Squirt. Then you add 3 tablespoon scoops of watermelon and mix in a blender for about 20 seconds. You can drink it as is but if you want a Deuces Wild Black you add a few sprinkles of pepper. If you want a Deuces Wild Red you add a few sprinkles of cinammon.
I’m gonna try this one. I bet it packs a wallop!
Yeah, it’s great and it numbs you out, but not enough to affect your fast draw.
I hate to say this darling… but this is one drink I’ll not be attempting!!!! Ewwwww….. watermelon!!!!!! But Tequila and cinnamon actually sounds like you might be onto something!!! How did you come up with these drinks? That is something I am curious to know!
I understand. Everybody’s tastes are different. In the case of the drink called a Cactus Jack the name hit me first, since I wanted to do a drink with Napolito cactus in it. Then “Jack” naturally suggested Jack Daniels and I’ve always liked JD with Mountain Dew, so I just played around with it a little from there.
For Deuces Wild I am not very fond of tequila but I knew it would be a very appropriate drink for Frontierado so I just played around with things to “kill the taste” of the tequila, LOL, and came up with this recipe.
I might embarrass myself here, but I’m not a drinker. So far, the best I’ve managed was half a glass of wine or half a pint of beer. Tequila…Hmmm, I’d take a sip just to see what it’s like, although it doesn’t sound too appealing to me, sorry. But watermelon and cinnammon I like, and I’ve got both of them in the house as we speak. Maybe I’ll just make a non-alcoholic watermelon cocktail on Friday…Would that be OK?
I do, however, admire your creativity in developing these drinks…What an experimenter you are, you never cease to surprise me 😉
Sure, whatever you can do to make it enjyable for yourself and George and the rest of the family! I’m just glad that Frontierado will be a multi-continent event this year.
Thanks! I love playing around with this kind of stuff.
The aim should be to make it global next year…There are a few continents left to conquer…
My husband almost blew up his parents’ house with his chemistry experiments when he was in secondary school. Now that he’s older he’s calmed down a bit, but he still likes to play around with ‘stuff’ in the garage…You two should never meet 😛
Ha! I’ll say! The consequences could be deadly!
lead me to cactus jack please….
Ha! You have got to try one! Eating the cacus stem after its been soaking in the drink the whole time is a lot more fun than eating the worm at the bottom of a bottle of tequila!
