Two former NAIA universities officially finalized their new conference affiliation as they make the move up to NCAA Division 2. The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rangers will join D2’s newest conference, the Great American Conference. The GAC was formed by teams leaving the Gulf South Conference and the Lone Star Conference after last football season. The Black Hills State University Yellowjackets are the other former NAIA football power moving up and they will be playing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Both schools are transitioning so they will not be eligible for conference championships or the D2 playoffs until that process is complete.
In other D2 news the Florida Tech Panthers have made it official that they will be adding football to the list of sports they sponsor. The Panthers will kick off their first game in 2013.
Interesting teams!
Thanks
