BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS: OUR CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT CHAMPS SO FAR

Yes, as the NAIA’s February Frenzy gets ready to turn into March Madness in a few days there have already been some tickets punched to the National Tournament. Let’s take a look at the conference champions that have been crowned so far.

KENTUCKY INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The top seeded Indiana University Southeast Grenadiers took it all yesterday, defeating the 2nd seed, the Indiana East Red Wolves in a 91-85 Instant Classic.

CHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The cool-named team doesn’t always win, as evidenced by the Trinity Christian Trolls (2 seed) falling to the Cardinal Stritch Wolves (1 seed) 86-77 in a Chalk Championship Game.

MIDLANDS COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE – The top seed won again in this conference title game, as the Bellevue (NE) Bruins took down the 3rd seeded College Of The Ozarks Bobcats 77-69.  

THE SUN CONFERENCE – The game of the post-season so far took place in the Sun Conference Championship Game. In a Double- Overtime thriller the Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles, the 2 seed, overcame the top seeded Northwood (FL) Seahawks 70- 69.

TODAY’S CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES

SUNRISE CONFERENCE – The 2nd seeded Maine- Ft Kent Bengals face the number 1 seed, the Fisher Falcons in what is sure to be a defensive Battle Royal. Tip-off is 3 pm local time.

MIDWEST COLLEGIATE CONFERENCE – The top seeded Iowa Wesleyan Tigers host the 3rd seeded Ashford Eagles at 6 pm local time.

DAKOTA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS

Minot State Beavers (5 seed) at the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets (1 seed) 4pm local time

Jamestown College Jimmies (3 seed) at the SDMT Hardrockers (2 seed) 3 pm local time
