THIS DATE IN ENGLISH CIVIL WAR HISTORY

February 18th, 1643 – At Oxford, the Royalist capital during the war, King Charles the First assures the University of Oxford that he will stop hurting the institution’s reputation and scholastic standards by continuing to grant honorary degrees to his sycophantic underlings and political flunkies. About time, Chuck the First!
