Due West, SC – The Erskine College athletic department honored former baseball player Bryan Fogle Saturday night at halftime of the men’s basketball game against Barton for his record breaking 2010 season.
Bryan was presented with his trophy for being named the American Baseball Coaches Association’s National Player of the Year by Flying Fleet Club president Steve Southwell. He is the second Erskine player in school history to be named Player of the Year and the first to be a consensus Player of the Year. Bryan finished 2010 hitting .430 with 23 doubles, 28 home runs, 103 RBI’s while slugging .910. He led Division II in home runs, RBI’s, and total bases, while also being ranked in the top 10 in runs, runs per game, hits, home runs per game, RBI’s per game, and slugging percentage. He has been named first team All-Conference, All-Region, Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, and Southeast Player of the Year. His 103 RBI’s are the second most in NCAA history.
Bryan is the only player in Division II history with 300 career hits, 70 home runs, 300 RBI’s, and 600 total bases.
