GRENADIER WOMEN’S HOOPS TRIUMPHANT OVER THE UNION BULLDOGS

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast women’s basketball team defeated Union College 89-74 Saturday afternoon (Dec. 11) in the Southeast Activities Building.

The Grenadiers beat the visiting Bulldogs with their ability to attack the defense and get easy lay-up opportunities.  The Grenadiers shot very well from the three point line making seven out of 15 attempts (46.7%).

Junior Brianne Miles (Louisville, Ky.) made two huge three pointers from the wing during the second half. One was to tie the game with ten minutes left and then another one a few possessions later to put the Grenadiers ahead for good.

Sophomore Ashmere Woods (Louisville, Ky.) led all scorers with 27 points. She led a late attack by the Grenadiers that extended their lead to 18 points that sealed the victory.  The Grenadiers extend their current winning streak to three games; they hope to keep the streak alive as they will host Lindsey Wilson this Tuesday, December 14 at 6 p.m.

  1. Go Grenadiers! I play basketball myself and I’d love to go play for this new school!
