*** NCCAA DIVISION ONE ***
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – The last two teams standing in this Division’s National Tournament were the top seeds – the COLORADO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY COUGARS – and the 6th seeded OHIO CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY TRAILBLAZERS.
The Cougars got almost more than they could handle from the Trailblazers in the opening Half and led by a mere 39-37 score at the break. From there Colorado Christian University began inching away from OCU, ultimately winning the game 83-74 to take their 2nd national title in the past 3 years. The Cougars were led by Brett Brady with 20 points and 7 rebounds. * THE COUGARS ARE CHAMPIONS OF NCCAA DIVISION ONE *
THIRD PLACE GAME – The 2nd seeded EMMANUEL COLLEGE LIONS (who entered the tournament as the defending national champs) and the 5 seeds – the GRACE COLLEGE LANCERS – played an Instant Classic against each other for the 3rd Place Finish in 2017.
The Lancers seemed to be getting poised for an upset with a 42-40 Halftime lead. However, after the break the Lions refused to say die and did just enough to eke out a 79-78 win led by 20 points from Zach Lillie.
Woot woot for Colorado Christian!
You said it!
