VICTORY BOWL – This Bowl serves as the National Championship Game in the NCCAA. The SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD UNIVERSITY LIONS took on the UNIVERSITY OF NORTHWESTERN (MN) EAGLES. The Lions seized a 10-0 1st Quarter lead but then the defenses took over. Neither team scored again until the Eagles put up 7 points in the 4th Quarter. SAGU won the game by a final count of 10-7.

FOUR OVERTIME MARATHON – The top ranked MORNINGSIDE COLLEGE MUSTANGS got a wakeup call from the ST XAVIER UNIVERSITY COUGARS to start the playoffs. The Mustangs led 33-31 at Halftime but Regulation ended in a 54-54 tie. After a scoreless 1st OT session both teams scored 7 points in the 2nd OT. Both scored 8 in the 3rd OT but in the 4th Morningside shut out the Cougars then got a TD for a 75-69 win.
TABOR IN TIGHT ONE – In this 1st Round of the NAIA playoffs the TABOR COLLEGE BLUE JAYS hosted the DOANE COLLEGE TIGERS. The Blue Jays led 3-0 after the 1st Quarter and clung to a 9-7 edge at Halftime. After a scoreless 3rd Quarter each team added a Touchdown in the 4th to give Tabor a 16-14 triumph.
DES MOINES CLASSIC – The GRAND VIEW UNIVERSITY VIKINGS, just 2 years removed from their National Championship, did battle with the LINDSEY WILSON COLLEGE BLUE RAIDERS. A 10-0 1st Quarter lead for the Vikings remained unchanged at the Half. The Blue Raiders put up 3 points in the 3rd Quarter but then fell short in the 4th, losing to Grand View in a 16-13 game for the ages.
COUGARS MAUL EAGLES – The UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS compiled a 24-7 lead over the REINHARDT UNIVERSITY EAGLES (should be the Rottweilers) by the break. In the 2nd Half the Cougars cruised, ultimately winning the game by a final score of 37-26.
BUTTE-KICKING – In Butte, MT (see what I did there) the MONTANA TECH OREDIGGERS played host to the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS in this 1st Round game. The Orediggers parlayed a 13-3 1st Quarter lead into a 23-3 advantage come Halftime. From there Montana Tech ultimately crushed the Blue Hawks 44-10.
CHIVALRY KILLS – The MARIAN UNIVERSITY KNIGHTS absolutely manhandled the CAMPBELLSVILLE UNIVERSITY TIGERS yesterday in their playoff game. The Knights limited the Tigers to just 7 points, which Campbellsville didn’t score until the 3rd Quarter. Marian, meanwhile, put up 10, 13 and 21 points respectively in the 1st 3 Quarters. The end result was Knights 44 Tigers 7.
THE CAT THAT ATE THE SKYHAWK – The BAKER UNIVERSITY WILDCATS took the field against the POINT UNIVERSITY SKYHAWKS in a very one-sided Opening Round game. The Wildcats led 26-7 by Halftime on their way to a 68-21 evisceration of the Skyhawks. Point U – champs of the Sun Conference – did make the playoffs after just a few years as a football program however.
DEFENDING CHAMPS ADVANCE – The SOUTHERN OREGON UNIVERSITY RAIDERS are the Defending Champions of NAIA football. Their 1st round opponents were the KANSAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY COYOTES, whom they utterly obliterated by a count of 52-8.

SEVEN SEED OVER TWO SEED – The 7th seeded EMPORIA STATE HORNETS toppled their region’s 2 seeds – the MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS. The Hornets played the Mavericks tight the entire game and ultimately wound up winning in a 51-49 upset.
SIX SEED OVER THREE SEED – The GRAND VALLEY STATE LAKERS are the 6 seeds in their region and traveled to face the 3 seeds – the ASHLAND UNIVERSITY EAGLES. The Lakers came from behind for a 45-28 upset victory over the Eagles.
ANOTHER SIX SEED OVER THREE SEED – In this playoff game the region’s 6 seeds – the TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY GOLDEN TIGERS – went up against the 3rd seeded CATAWBA COLLEGE INDIANS. The Golden Tigers stunned the Indians by a score of 26-16.
FIVE OVER FOUR UPSET – As expected from a 5 seed vs a 4 seed clash the battle between the (5) INDIANA UNIVERSITY IN PENNSYLVANIA CRIMSON HAWKS and the (4) UNIVERSITY OF CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES was close … for about a Half. In the end the Crimson Hawks hammered the Golden Eagles 47-21.
CLOSE CALL FOR THE BLAZERS – The 4 seeds – the VALDOSTA STATE BLAZERS – got almost more than they could handle from the 5th seeded CARSON- NEWMAN UNIVERSITY EAGLES. The Blazers charged back late for a 61-59 win in this shootout.
“REDDIE” FOR THE NEXT ROUND – The 3rd seeded HENDERSON STATE REDDIES welcomed their region’s 6 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF SIOUX FALLS COUGARS. This was a nailbiting back and forth affair but in the end the Reddies pulled out a 23-16 victory to advance to the 2nd Round.
DEFENDING THE CROWN – The Defending Champions of D2 football – the COLORADO STATE AT PUEBLO THUNDERWOLVES – came in as the 4 seeds in their region. Their 1st Round opponents the 5th seeded UNIVERSITY OF INDIANAPOLIS GREYHOUNDS put up a reasonable fight but in the end were sent back home nursing a 27-14 loss.
THEY’RE LUMBERJACKS AND THEY’RE OKAY – The 4th seeded HUMBOLDT STATE LUMBERJACKS did battle with the visiting 5 seeds – the AUGUSTANA (SD) VIKINGS. The Lumberjacks defended the Redwood Bowl effectively, dispatching the Vikings by a score of 45-31.
OUTRIGHT ANNIHILATION – Regional 2 seeds – the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA LIONS – dominated the 7th seeded NEWBERRY COLLEGE WOLVES on both sides of the ball. The Lions shoved the Wolves all over the field, ultimately crushing them to the tune of FIFTY to SEVEN!
OTHER BLOWOUTS – The (3) ASSUMPTION COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS clobbered the (6) BOWIE STATE BULLDOGS in a 51-29 beatdown ### Meanwhile the (2) FERRIS STATE BULLDOGS slammed the (7) TEXAS A&M AT COMMERCE LIONS 48-30 ### And the (2) SLIPPERY ROCK ROCKETS defeated the (7) VIRGINIA UNION UNIVERSITY PANTHERS 40-21.

REMATCH – During the regular season the UNIVERSITY OF MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR CRUSADERS fell to the HARDIN- SIMMONS UNIVERSITY COWBOYS. In yesterday’s 1st Round of the playoffs the Crusaders got their revenge, nearly doubling up on the Cowboys in a 37-19 upset.
BEAR NECESSITIES – In the most ursine game of the day the OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY POLAR BEARS visited the FRANKLIN COLLEGE GRIZZLIES for their opening playoff game. The Polar Bears upset the Grizzlies in a 27-22 Instant Classic.
THE BIG TWO ADVANCE – The pair of teams that have traded the D3 title for the past decade easily moved on to Round Two. The UW-WHITEWATER WARHAWKS crushed the ST NORBERT COLLEGE GREEN KNIGHTS in a 48-0 shutout. And the MT UNION PURPLE RAIDERS routed the ST LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY SAINTS 55-23.
A TALE OF TWO SAINTS TEAMS – The THOMAS MORE COLLEGE SAINTS dismembered the visiting WASHINGTON & LEE UNIVERSITY GENERALS by a score of 51-21 ### And the COLLEGE OF ST SCHOLASTICA SAINTS fell to their hosts the UW-OSHKOSH TITANS 48-0.
HAWKS IN FLIGHT – The HUNTINGDON COLLEGE HAWKS welcomed their 1st Round opponents the HENDRIX COLLEGE WARRIORS. At Halftime the score was tied at 24-24 but the Hawks soared in the 2nd Half, winning by a final score of 38-27.
BEWARE THE DRAGONS – The CORTLAND STATE RED DRAGONS hosted the SALISBURY UNIVERSITY SEA GULLS. A 14-14 tie in the 1st Quarter became a 28-14 lead for the Red Dragons at the break and ultimately a 45-21 beatdown of the Sea Gulls.
TOMMIES CAN YOU HEAR ME? – The UNIVERSITY OF SAINT THOMAS TOMMIES were less than gracious hosts to the UNIVERSITY OF LA VERNE LEOPARDS. The Tommies led 21-0 at Halftime on their way to a 57-14 blowout win.
FELINE SUPREMACY – The LINFIELD COLLEGE WILDCATS mauled the visiting WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY PIRATES by a score of 48-10 ### And the ALBRIGHT COLLEGE LIONS massacred the NORWICH UNIVERSITY CADETS to the tune of 49-0.
FEAR THE W – The WHEATON COLLEGE THUNDER obliterated the LAKELAND COLLEGE MUSKIES by a final tally of 55-6 ### And the WABASH COLLEGE LITTLE GIANTS smacked down the ALBION COLLEGE BRITONS 35-14.
JOHNNIES ON THE SPOT – The SAINT JOHN’S UNIVERSITY JOHNNIES welcomed the UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE SPARTANS yesterday. The Johnnies led the Spartans 9-0 in the 1st Quarter and never looked back, ultimately annihilating Dubuque 51-7.
THE BEST THERE ARE AT WHAT THEY DO – The WESLEY COLLEGE WOLVERINES were tied 7-7 in the 1st Quarter with the FRAMINGHAM STATE RAMS. From there the Wolverines said “Watch out, bub” and proceeded to slice up the Rams 42-22.
COLORFUL CONTEST – The JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY BLUE JAYS welcomed the WESTERN NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE GOLDEN BEARS. A 38-0 Halftime lead for the Blue Jays became a 52-20 blowout win as Johns Hopkins stayed perfect in 2015.

The USCAA season is over. This year’s champions here at Balladeer’s Blog are the WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES MECHANICS. The Mechanics were runners-up in 2014. This year’s runners-up are the NEWPORT NEWS APPRENTICE SCHOOL BUILDERS.

The regular season is over in the NJCAA. Bowl Season is next for them, including the National Championship Game in the Mississippi Bowl. The top ranked NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE RANGERS will take on the number 2 ROCHESTER TECH YELLOW JACKETS on December 6th.

BULLDOG BOWL – This Bowl served as one of the semifinals for the Northern Division. The 2nd seeded CHABOT COLLEGE GLADIATORS played the 3 seeds – the COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO BULLDOGS. Nobody played defense in this shootout, which ended in a 76-55 win for the Gladiators.
SAN FRANCISCO COLLEGE BOWL – This Bowl was the other semifinal in the Northern Division. The top seeds – the CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO RAMS took the field against the 4th seeded BUTTE COLLEGE ROADRUNNERS. The Rams advanced with a 30-13 victory over the Roadrunners.
NATIONAL BOWL – This Bowl was one of the semifinals for the Southern Division. The top seeded SADDLEBACK COLLEGE GAUCHOS led the 4 seeds – the RIVERSIDE COLLEGE TIGERS – 27-0 at Halftime. From there the Gauchos coasted to a 37-20 triumph.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BOWL – This Bowl was the other semifinal for the Southern Division. The 3 seeds – the LONG BEACH COLLEGE VIKINGS – played the 2nd seeded CERRITOS COLLEGE FALCONS. The Vikings trailed the Falcons 7-3 in the 1st Quarter and 21-10 at Halftime. They cut it to a 23-20 deficit to end the 3rd Quarter then managed a 34-30 comeback win in the 4th.
AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP BOWL (NORTH) – This non-playoff divisional championship game pitted the SHASTA COLLEGE KNIGHTS against the WEST HILLS COLLEGE FALCONS. The Knights led 17-0 in the 1st Quarter and never looked back as they plucked the Falcons 51-14.
AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP BOWL (SOUTH) – This non-playoff divisional championship game saw the SANTA MONICA COLLEGE CORSAIRS take on the VICTOR VALLEY COLLEGE RAMS. A 28-0 1st Quarter lead for the Corsairs became 49-0 by Halftime and finally a 63-0 laugher when all was said and done.
* NCAA DIVISION THREE BOWLS *
CHAPMAN BOWL – The SALVE REGINA UNIVERSITY SEAHAWKS led the HUSSON UNIVERSITY EAGLES 14-13 to end the 1st Quarter. The Seahawks went on to trail the Eagles 33-21 at Halftime but cut that to a 39-35 deficit in the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Salve Regina shut out Husson and put up a TD for a 42-39 comeback win.
CC/ MAC BOWL CHALLENGE – The Mid Atlantic Conference won both games in their Bowl Challenge with the Centennial Conference. The STEVENSON UNIVERSITY MUSTANGS won 14-9 at the MUHLENBERG COLLEGE MULES and the DELAWARE VALLEY COLLEGE AGGIES defeated the MORAVIAN COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS 20-16.
BUSHNELL BOWL – The RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE ENGINEERS faced the BUFFALO STATE BENGALS in this Bowl Game. The Engineers trailed the Bengals 7-3 in the 1st Quarter, 13-3 at the Half and 13-10 to end the 3rd. In the 4th Quarter Rensselaer came from behind for a 20-13 win.
LYNAH BOWL – The WESTMINSTER (PA) TITANS squared off against the ST JOHN FISHER COLLEGE CARDINALS on Saturday. By Halftime the Titans had compiled a 21-7 lead and then parlayed that into a 42-21 blowout win over the Cardinals.
PRESIDENT’S BOWL – The KEAN UNIVERSITY COUGARS battled the WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE ENGINEERS in this Bowl. The Cougars kept the Engineers off the scoreboard until the 4th Quarter while putting up 3, 14 and 7 points in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The final score was Kean 24 Worcester Polytechnic 6.
WHITELAW BOWL – This was one of the most thrilling Bowls of the day! A successful 2-point Conversion in the 2nd Quarter wound up being the difference in the game. After a scoreless 1st Quarter the ALFRED UNIVERSITY SAXONS took an 8-7 lead over the FITCHBURG STATE FALCONS into Halftime. The Falcons added a Field Goal in the 3rd Quarter and the Saxons added one in the 4th for an 11-10 edge-of-their- seat win!
LEGACY BOWL – This Bowl pitted the CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY TARTANS against the BRIDGEWATER STATE BEARS. It was pretty much all Tartans all the time as Carnegie Mellon led 14-7 in the 1st Quarter and 28-7 at the Half enroute to a 48-13 beatdown of the Bears.
* CCCAA BOWLS *
PATRIOTIC BOWL – This was the best of the non-playoff Bowl Games of the day as the MOUNT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE MOUNTIES played the GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE RUSTLERS. The Mounties led the Rustlers 5-0 after 1 Quarter and 22-13 at Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 29-20 Mount SAC lead which ultimately became a 29-27 win for the Mounties in this Instant Classic.
GOLDEN STATE BOWL – The LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE MONARCHS and the SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY WOLVERINES were tied up at 7-7 in the 1st Quarter. That became a 21-14 lead for the Monarchs by the Half and a 35-27 advantage to end the 3rd Quarter. In the 4th Los Angeles Valley added another TD for a 42-27 victory.
GRIDIRON CLASSIC BOWL – This Bowl lived up to its name! The SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COLLEGE MUSTANGS and the AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS were knotted up at 7-7 by Halftime. The 3rd Quarter ended in a 14-14 tie and Regulation ended with both teams at 17 points. In Overtime the Mustangs put up 7 then shut out the Beavers for a 24-17 win!
STATE CENTER BOWL – The SIERRA COLLEGE WOLVERINES led the FRESNO COLLEGE RAMS 7-0 after 1 Quarter of play. At the break that became a 21-14 advantage and 28-14 to end the 3rd Quarter. From there the Wolverines held on against a furious Rams rally to win the game 31-28.
WESTERN STATE BOWL – The CHAFFEY COLLEGE PANTHERS squared off against the FULLERTON COLLEGE HORNETS in this game. The Panthers led the Hornets 28-10 by Halftime on their way to an authoritative 42-28 victory.
BEACH BOWL – Piracy was the theme of this Bowl Game which pitted the VENTURA COLLEGE PIRATES against the ORANGE COAST COLLEGE PIRATES. Ventura College led 16-0 in the 1st Quarter and never trailed in the game, ultimately winning by a score of 53-39.
NORTH STATE BOWL – This Bowl pitted the SANTA ROSA COLLEGE BEAR CUBS against the MODESTO COLLEGE PIRATES. The Bear Cubs dominated from start to finish in this game, leading 21-6 in the 1st Quarter and never looking back enroute to a 38-18 triumph.
