Everyman Scott Brady
You can have your Time Lord from Gallifrey or your reporter from INS. When it comes to REAL action against goofy monsters the one and only Scott Brady comes on like Jim Dandy to the rescue. The Pudgy One was always a welcome sight in B-movies from decades ago. Here are four of his most enjoyably bad outings.
DESTINATION INNER SPACE (1966) – In a true rarity Scott Brady got to be the less-than- hunky action lead in this film! THE Sheree North and The Green Hornet‘s Wende Wagner were along for the ride in this flick that plays like an episode from Jon Pertwee’s Doctor Who era recast with Americans.
Scott Brady portrays Commander Wayne, a courageous Naval Officer who might as well be working for UNIT as he saves the world from a potential invasion by a group of sub-aquatic extraterrestrials. The monsters are as ridiculous as the dialogue in this fair-to- middling gem.
CASTLE OF EVIL (1966) – A robot and other technological innovations of a mad scientist add some variety to this otherwise standard “potential heirs getting knocked off in a creepy castle setting” storyline.
Our man Scott Brady portrays Matt Granger in this movie which also stars Hugh Marlowe, Virginia Mayo and Lisa Gaye. Matt Granger is the unlikely hero of this enjoyably bad piece of work. The assembled victims all had their lives ruined by Kovic, the man whose death resulted in them being summoned to the title castle.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF TIME (1967) – This time around Scott Brady portrays the Dr Smith-ish pain in the neck named Stanton. Brady’s character is a no-nonsense business man looking to cut out some dead weight – like the team of scientists whose research into time travel he’s been financing.
Anthony Eisley is the true lead in this sci-fi turkey which finds Stanton getting dragged along on a journey throughout the time stream. Lyle Waggoner shows up as a mutant-headed man from the post-World War Three future. This flick is a ripoff-cum-remake of The Time Travelers, right down to the head-shakingly stupid finale.
THE MIGHTY GORGA (1969) – For decades this baby has been known as the all-time WORST King Kong imitator of them all! Scott Brady and Anthony Eisley are together again as they travel to Bronson Canyon posing as Africa in search of the title monster. Brady plays circus man Dan Morgan, who wants to exploit Gorga yada yada yada.
Gorga is every bit as cheap as you’ve heard. How cheap, you may ask. So cheap that the monster looks even worse than the creature from Ganjasaurus Rex. In other words little kids playing with toys present more realistic action than anything you will see in The Mighty Gorga.

What strange movies! Sound like fun!
They pretty much are!
I never paid attention to this dude’s name before.
I know what you mean. He’s one of those faces who often showed up in various supporting roles all the time by the 60s and 70s. He was a moderately big star before that, though.
Awesome! I want dvds with this man’s commentary!
