FINAL FOUR – GAME ONE – The 6 seeds – the DALTON STATE ROADRUNNERS – toppled the 2nd seeded TALLADEGA COLLEGE TORNADOES in this first semifinal. The Roadrunners came back from being 6 points down to the Tornadoes to tie the game at 29-29 by Halftime. After the break Dalton State made their move, with their defense strangling Talladega College and with their offense slowly but surely getting more and more distance between themselves and the favorites. In the end the Roadrunners advanced to the Championship Game by a score of 64-54. Preston Earle led Dalton State with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
FINAL FOUR – GAME TWO – An even bigger shocker was in store in the second semifinal as the (BD) WESTMONT COLLEGE WARRIORS took on the top seeded HOPE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY ROYALS. The Warriors trailed the Royals by 3 early in the 1st Half but had seized a 34-27 lead by the break to put Hope International University on Upset Alert. An action-packed 2nd Half saw the Royals edging ever-closer but in the end Westmont College held on for a nailbiting 70-69 victory. It will be Warriors vs Roadrunners in the title game! Daniel Carlin’s 16 points led Westmont College.
