COLLEGE FOOTBALL RESULTS FROM SEPTEMBER 26TH AND 27TH

Cumberlands_KYMASSACRE IN RED, WHITE AND BLUE!  – The undefeated 4th ranked team in the nation, the NAIA’s UNIVERSITY OF THE CUMBERLANDS PATRIOTS, were on the road against the 3-1 UNIVERSITY OF PIKEVILLE BEARS last night. The Patriots dominated this game on both sides of the ball in what was one of the most embarrassing losses ever endured by Pikeville. When all the dust had settled the Patriots won by a final score of FIFTY-NINE to THREE!  

West Alabama TigersA TALE OF TWO DIFFERENT TIGER TEAMS – The number 14 team in the nation, the UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA TIGERS devoured and digested the visiting CONCORDIA (AL) HORNETS. The final score in this one-sided affair was 71-14.   ###   On the other hand, the NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE TIGERS were fighting in a losing cause last night. These Tigers wound up losing to the visiting MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COLLEGE BULLDOGS by a score of 28-14.

Vermilion College Ironmen helmetIRONMEN NOTCH THIRD WIN IN A ROW – The VERMILION COLLEGE IRONMEN have been putting together a very memorable season for their fans! The past few weeks have seen the Ironmen playing tight, polished football on both sides of the pigskin. Last night  Vermilion traveled to take on the ITASCA COLLEGE VIKINGS and unleashed a savage beatdown on them to the tune of 42-11.  

Tyler Apaches helmetAPACHES TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS – The TYLER COLLEGE APACHES were on the road against the NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA A&M GOLDEN NORSEMEN last night. Both teams are known for their explosive offenses but in a clash like this it was inevitable that one team would outshine the other. When all the dust had settled after this 4 Quarter shootout the Apaches had come out on top with a 63-49 victory.  

Pearl River College Wildcats helmetVARYING DEGREES OF BLOWOUTS – The PEARL RIVER COLLEGE WILDCATS were ungracious hosts, sending the SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE BEARS home reeling from a 38-14 loss.   ###   … And in a real laugher the HOLMES COLLEGE BULLDOGS folded, spindled and mutilated the homestanding MISSISSIPPI DELTA COLLEGE TROJANS by a final score of FIFTY-EIGHT to SIX!

* FRIDAY SEPT 27TH *

Assumption Greyhounds helmetA CONTRAST IN RESULTS – In NCAA Division 2 there were two games last night and they provided quite a contrast in results. First the ASSUMPTION COLLEGE GREYHOUNDS came from behind to defeat the homestanding AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL YELLOW JACKETS  26-23.   ###   And the other game was a rout with the SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT STATE OWLS notching a 42-20 road win over the ST ANSELM HAWKS.  

Rowan ProfsDEFENSIVE EPIC IN NEW JERSEY – The ROWAN UNIVERSITY PROFS welcomed the MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY RED HAWKS. The two teams were both playing stellar defense last night and by halftime the Profs were clinging to a 7-0 lead. Believe it or not that was also the final score as well. The only touchdown came from a 64 yard jaunt by running back Withler Marcelin.  

Endicott Gulls helmetGULLS GONE WILD – The ENDICOTT COLLEGE GULLS traveled to face the CURRY COLLEGE COLONELS and improved to 2-2. The opening Quarter ended with the Gulls ahead by 7-0. At Halftime Endicott had extended that lead to 21-7. It was off to the races from there with the score 28-14 after 3 Quarters and when all was said and done the Gulls had triumphed by a final score of 42-27.

Chabot CollegeNO RUSSELL CROWE, NO PROBLEM – The CHABOT COLLEGE GLADIATORS hosted the DIABLO VALLEY COLLEGE VIKINGS in a game for the ages last night. The teams matched each other move for move and were tied up at 10-10 at the end of the 1st Quarter and 17-17 at Halftime. The Gladiators notched the only points in the 2nd Half and won this epic gridiron clash by a final score of 20-17.

American River College BeaversYIN AND YANG LAST NIGHT – FOR EVERY CLOSE GAME THERE WAS A WHOLESALE BLOWOUT – The matchup between the AMERICAN RIVER COLLEGE BEAVERS and the homestanding SANTA ROSA COLLEGE BEAR CUBS wound up being a complete travesty. Ironically the Bear Cubs led 7-6 after one Quarter but trailed 28-7 by Halftime. Things did not improve the rest of the way with the Beavers winning 55-21.
