DENNIS RODMAN OR GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: WHO’S A BIGGER IMBECILE?

Once again readers of Balladeer’s Blog can vote on a particular question. This time around the subject is the now- notorious appearance of Dennis Rodman on George Stephanopoulos’ news program This Week.

If this isn’t the sartorial appearance of an expert on U.S.- North Korean relations I don’t know what is! Since Dennis Rodman showed up wearing a suit made out of make- believe dollar bills I guess Wall Street Week will be where this Renaissance Man shows up next.

Yes, former NBA star Rodman recently visited North Korea as a guest of Kim Jong Un. Like many other shallow and brainless American celebrities who relish getting to be chummy with dictators Rodman mistakenly believed that the lack of legal opposition in a dictatorship means that that dictator is beloved and respected. Rodman compounded his error by telling Stephanopoulos that Un, his father and grandfather were a long line of glorious and capable statesmen.

The countless victims who disappeared in the middle of the night and all the people slain by three generations of Kim despotism might be inclined to disagree, but hey they just live there. Surely a pampered, ignorant celebrity knows better.

We’ve examined some of Rodman’s qualifications for “out- imbeciling” Stephanopoulos. As for George S himself, can anyone explain what made him think a news program was the appropriate arena for discussing the volatile situation with North Korea with a former athlete best known for dying his hair various colors and for modeling a wedding dress?

The most hilarious part of this surreal interview was how hard- hitting Stephanopoulos was with his questions. On the one hand it was great to see someone finally grill a vacuous American celebrity on their misconceptions about a totalitarian regime. Hell, I’d love to see uninformed idiots like Sean Penn and Jack Nicholson get toasted like this the next time they sound off about how supposedly wonderful power-mad animals like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro are.

But on the other hand it played like something written by Ionesco to see George wasting this kind of journalistic fire on such an inconsequential fool. Especially since he’s doing it while REAL journalists like Bob Woodward are nailing the weak, inept and crooked little man named Barack Obama for all his lies about the sequestration and for his administration’s thuggish Chicago tactics in dealing with dissent. (Castro and the late Hugo Chavez would approve of little Barry O’s methods no doubt)

Stephanopoulos is also wasting his time on Rodman while other REAL journalists like CBS’ Sharyl Atkinson are bravely trying to penetrate the Obama administration’s ongoing coverup of its Benghazi failures. And while the liberal activist group Common Cause is probing Obama’s repulsive Chicago- style brand of influence- peddling via his “tax exempt” front organization. Remember, for $500,000 you too can own a piece of the new Boss Tweed, Barack Obama. Granted, not as much of him as the “admirers” who paid for the 35 million dollar mansion waiting for him in Hawaii, but still.

It’s at best silly for George to spend time on an ex-basketball player while Barack Obama, that piece of political sewage who bubbled and gurgled up from the cesspool that IS Chicago politics continues abusing his office and pocketing all the graft he can at every opportunity.
