The NAIA’s 5th ranked MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers (helmet at left) will host the number 7 Benedictine Ravens today in a crucial matchup in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The Pioneers are the defending HAAC champs but Benedictine currently tops the conference standings. MNU will be led by quarterback Sean “How Bad” Ransburg as they take on the Ravens’ revered defense, which is 2nd in the nation in scoring and 4th overall.
The battle for the Frontier Conference title may well be decided today as the CC Fighting Saints are on the road against the league’s co-leaders the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers. The 3rd ranked Fighting Saints are the defending Frontier Conference champs as well as the defending NAIA national champions. Eastern Oregon and CC are both 2 games ahead of their closest Frontier Conference rivals and the Fighting Saints are looking for revenge against the 22nd ranked Mountaineers for snapping their 44 game conference winning streak in their last encounter.
In other Top 25 NAIA action the number 17 Cumberland Bulldogs host the 14th ranked Bethel (TN) Wildcats and there will be Tiger on Tiger violence out west as number 18 Doane hosts number 19 Dakota Wesleyan. Go MNU! The Pioneers and Sean Ransburg are great!
Thanks for commenting! I gave him the nickname “How Bad” after his huddle speech last year.
