ST NORBERT GREEN KNIGHTS WIN NCAA DIVISION 3’S COLLEGE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Saint Norbert College Green Knights (love that name) brought home their 2nd D3 college hockey championship by defeating the Adrian Bulldogs 4-3. The teams alternated goals throughout this exciting game, with a Green Knight power play goal from Nick Tabisz early in the 3rd Period proving to be the game-winner. Goaltender B.J. O’Brien stopped 17 shots on goal and was named the Frozen Four’s Most Outstanding Player for the 2nd year in a row. The Green Knights, who led the nation in goals against average with a mark of just 1.8 per game, last won the national title in 2008. The 2 other teams in this year’s Frozen Four were the Norwich Cadets and the Oswego State Lakers. Saint Norbert’s title game opponents, the Adrian Bulldogs, were in just the 4th year of their hockey program’s existence.
