The Bellarmine University Knights won the NCAA Division 2 men’s basketball championship by defeating the BYU-Hawaii Seasiders by a score of 71-68. The final minutes of this thoroughly exciting game became an awkward comedy of errors with turnovers galore by both teams. The Seasiders have often gone as Jet Chang goes and unfortunately for such a usually solid star 3 of the turnovers for BYUH were on him in the final furious minutes when the Knights had just a 1 point lead. Bellarmine put away a few clutch free throws to extend the lead to 3 and a final desperation shot by Chang found nothing but air.
