The frisky feline delivering a Xena-kick to the face of the cute little pooch in this picture is Littlegirl The Spoiled from the famous cat-lover’s blog Life With 4 Cats at http://lifewith4cats.com/
Littlegirl is here to gloat over the way the cat- nicknamed teams crushed the dog- nicknamed teams in the NAIA Division 2 basketball tournament over the past week. Cat teams won 68% of their games, compared to just 33% won by teams with canine nicknames. Wow! Now, over to Littlegirl:
Littlegirl: Was there ever any question? We kitty-cats OWNED the dogs in this terrific basketball tournament. Not only did we more than double-up on the hounds’ winning percentage, but tonight, in the Championship Game, the defending champs, the St Francis (IN) Cougars – a cat name naturally – will be taking the floor to defend their title! It would only be toooooo perfect for us feline hoops experts if their opponent was another dog-named team to take down, but instead it’s the Cornerstone Golden Eagles. Tip-off is at 10pm Eastern Time and the game will be shown on that cable channel called CBS College Sports! The NAIA Division 1 tournament tips off tomorrow at 10am Eastern Time with the opening game between the OBU Bison and the Pikeville Bears.
I tried to talk the guy who usually writes this blog (I was going to say “the guy who normally writes this blog” but this guy is never normal) into doing cats vs dogs again for that tournament but he said this first tournament was so lopsided in favor of us cats that he’ll try another approach for the Division 1 tournament that starts tomorrow at 10.
Meanwhile, don’t miss me in all my finicky feline glory, along with my backup singers Twiggy, Babyboy and Pooh, at my mom’s blog!
Very funny…Luckily, we love you, Littlegirl, so we won’t hold any grudges…We do hope, though, that those soft Yankee dogs will pick themselves up and try a bit harder next time.
Ha! I like that poke at the “soft yankee dogs”, Didi! The McPherson Bulldogs did the best of any of the dog teams, going 2-1. I will catch up on the award post I owe you soon but I have been so swamped with college basketball tournaments (they don’t call it March Madness for nothing!) to give it the concentration it deserves.
Hope you and Brianna enjoyed the Hawaiian goddess Inanea!
Littlegirl says, “No dogs were hurt during the making of her photo. It was all done with lights and props.”
Wow! Always concerned for the welfare of other animals, that’s Littlegirl, I guess!
