SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Feb. 8, 2011) — University of Sioux Falls senior forward Kelly Hubbard (Carson, Calif.) has been named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.
Hubbard scored 30 points in both contests last week to lead the Cougars in scoring each game. His efforts helped No. 18 USF (18-7 overall, 10-4 GPAC) to a 1-1 record during the week.
Hubbard was a sharp shooter in both games, making a combined 25 of 41 shots taken (60.9%), including 3 of 6 from three point range. Hubbard added a combined seven rebounds, five assists, one block and made seven of eight free throw attempts (87.5%) during the week.
Over the last three games Hubbard has led the Cougars in scoring, scored at least 24 points in each game and increased his points-per-game average from 8.6 to 11.
USF will play Dordt College and Nebraska Wesleyan in their regular season home finale this week. First up is Dordt College (13-10 overall, 6-7 GPAC) tomorrow, Feb. 9 at 8:00 p.m. in the Stewart Center.
