Nothing against the Cumberlands Patriots but the 11th-ranked William Penn Statesmen got royally screwed today, getting left out of the 16-team playoff field that was announced just minutes ago on the NAIA Selection Show on the Victory Sports Network. Putting that grumbling aside (for now) let’s look at next Saturday’s opening round matchups:
The #1 SIOUX FALLS COUGARS will host the NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE RANGERS
The #2 CC FIGHTING SAINTS will host the AZUSA PACIFIC COUGARS
The #3 SAINT XAVIER COUGARS will host the CUMBERLANDS PATRIOTS
The #4 MNU PIONEERS will host the GEORGETOWN (KY) TIGERS
The #5 LINDENWOOD LIONS will host the ST FRANCIS (IN) COUGARS
The #6 MCPHERSON BULLDOGS will host the MCKENDREE BEARCATS
The #7 MORNINGSIDE MUSTANGS will host the DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS
The #8 OTTAWA (KS) BRAVES will host the MARIAN KNIGHTS
More coverage to come as the week progresses.
I’m glad somebody stuck up for William Penn. They got screwed by the stupid selection committee.
William Penn Class of ’02
Thanks for stopping by! I agree!
