The unique way the DAC has of ending the regular season has been unfolding today at the Fargodome in Fargo, ND. (I would have thought the Fargodome was in Miami, FL, but that just shows what I know) We have final scores for the early games:
JAMESTOWN COLLEGE JIMMIES over the Mayville State Comets 48-14
VCS VIKINGS over the Dakota State Trojans 62-39
Currently the 2nd games are going on there, both involving ranked teams. Adding extra spice to the mix is the fact that the Hardrockers and the Yellow Jackets are both in their final game as part of the Dakota Athletic Conference. The tension behind the way all that played out earlier this year could make every snap an outlet for built-up hostility on the part of those two teams, who may be looking to go out with some “up yours!” victories in the conference’s spotlight event.
NEW FINAL SCORE IN:
MINOT STATE BEAVERS upset (#16) S Dakota Mines Hardrockers 30-7
(11) DICKINSON STATE BLUE HAWKS over the Black Hills State Yellow Jackets 21-0
So, instead of the Hardrockers and the Yellow Jackets getting “up yours” wins the schools that are staying in the DAC (as well as the NAIA) earned “who needs ya” victories instead!
