YORK, Pa — Franklin & Marshall won its third straight game with a dominant 8-1 victory over the York College Spartans Tuesday.

Allison McLaren gave the Diplomats a 1-0 lead with a goal at 14:28 before Kimmy Fisher made it a 2-0 advantage 15 minutes later with a shot to the right post.

Becky Willert scored back-to-back goals to begin the second half for F&M. Her scores came about two minutes apart and gave her a team-high 11 scores on the season.  Chelsey Talhelm assisted in Willert’s first goal in the second half and McLaren’s score in the first half.

The Diplomats went ahead 5-0 when Faith Musengezi found the right side of the cage at 56:32. Eileen O’Reilly’s penalty corner pass found Dana Venditti to put the Diplomats up 6-0 before O’Reilly scored, from a pass by Lauren Wendth, three minutes later. O’Reilly’s goal and assist gave her a team-high 28 points this season. Kelsey Baker scored F&M’s final goal at 62:50, with an assist by Caitlin Nallo, before York (9-10) scored its only goal on a penalty stroke from Brittany Simmons with no time on the clock.

F&M’s defense, which has allowed just three goals in the last five games, held York to nine shots and goalie Sarah Dileo stopped six shots.

The Diplomats wrap up the 2010 season when they host the Swarthmore Garnets Saturday at 12 p.m.
