NUMBER FIVE TAKES A FALL – In NCAA Division Three the unranked UW-STEVENS POINT POINTERS played host to the number 5 team in the nation – the NORTH CENTRAL CARDINALS. The Pointers trailed the Cardinals by one point – 7-6 – after 1 Quarter of play and by a score of 17-16 by Halftime. A huge 3rd Quarter for Stevens Point gave them a 31-24 advantage and the two teams simply exchanged Field Goals in the 4th for a final score of Pointers 34 Cardinals 27. QB Kyle Larson was on fire with his WR’s Matt Sosinsky and Logan Taylor, with his 302 passing yards and their combined 253 receiving yards accounting for most of the Stevens Point offense.
BISON STAMPEDE PIRATES – The OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY BISON from the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) welcomed the NCAA Division Three team the SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY PIRATES. Bison Head Coach Chris Jensen watched his team give up the first 7 points of the game, then navigated them to FIFTY-ONE unanswered points in this chapter of NAIA football vs D3 football.
