The no. 4 seed Lincoln Memorial University men’s tennis team had to battle back Wednesday afternoon to defeat no. 5 seed Mars Hill College 5-2 in the quarterfinals of the 2011 South Atlantic Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Now 13-5 overall, the no. 4 seed LMU men are set for their second consecutive SAC Tournament semifinal round appearance when they take on no. 1 seed Wingate University. The last time the Railsplitters and Bulldogs met during the regular season, Wingate emerged with a narrow 5-4 margin of victory however, when the two teams met in last year’s SAC Tournament championship match, it was LMU that came away with a 5-3 victory.
